There have been several issues with odd stuff happening on the forums lately, and among other things, some forum areas have mysteriously vanished. The person that does a lot of the behind the scenes 'expert level' upkeep on the software and solves issues like this is having some other personal issues that is keeping them from being able to work on fixing this...

I expect that one of the admins will be along shortly to add any details I missed...

You are definitely accepted, there are just some bugs wandering around screwing things up.

Did this happen at the same time as the TG and penectomy forums disappearing and only just noticed, or is this new? I'm not sure what 'glitch' would mean whole subsections just disappearing from a forum; what would do that is the site being cracked. We need someone else to take over the technical side of the forum and deal with the security problems while the usual person deals with his problems, unless we want the site to just disappear.

Folks, this poor system and the database here on VB has been running and glitching and being patched for over 20 years now. It was inevitable that something bad was going to happen, and it finally did.

The answer is likely in the control panel logs, which won't let any of us into them to read them!

The bad news is, at this point, and as far as I can tell from doing research into how VB works, those forums are gone and they're not coming back.

Is there a plan in case of a complete crash?

Too bad you can't access the logs from the operating system, outside of Vbulletin in whatever folders they are in.
