Not to interrupt an important discussion started by Elizabeth, but I had a curious thing happen yesterday. You know how your email inbox shows sender and subject. Yesterday an email showed up showing my first and llast name as sender and subject as 'article that showed up in my news feed' as subject. The article was about a commodity I work in. Hovering the cursor over my name (the sender) shows my first name @gtlinc.com.
My first reaction was wtf? Any of you technical people have suggestions on
what to read into this
what to do about it if needed
Thanks
Email from me

Re: Email from me
I'd change my passwords ASAP.
It sounds as if someone has this information, and is spoofing emails to seem to be from you.
While it's not the same thing, I get calls from random people on my cell phone (a number recycled how many times?) saying they missed a call from me. I politely explain caller ID spoofing to them. Many of them had no idea!
Scams are getting a lot more complicated these days.
Now I am getting emails about my banking and flight confirmation information from places like UAE, a big bank in Abu Dabi, I think it was, etc.
