This is my first post as a new member although I have been a visitor to the Archive for many years. I am 70 years old , happily married for nearly 50years, with kids and grandchildren, all good. Whilst I have been a wannabe for many years, it seems my fantasy is going to become a reality.
12months ago I had an accident, severely injuring my testicles. The kicked in the balls pain hasnt gone away and is sometimes so intense, I vomit. I saw my GP who said it should subside within 3 months, it didnt. I was then referred to a urologist who treated me for almost 6 months but in frustration, has referred me to a pain specialist. Cortisone and cord blocks havent worked and he is now talking about surgically cutting the nerve to the testicles. There is less than 50% success in this procedure if a cord block doesnt work, so I come to the conclusion that I will have to insist on the removal of my testes. Doctors in Australia are very conservative, they wont even discuss an orthiectomy, let alone contemplate or recommend one.
Some days the pain is so intense, I contemplate self castration, budizzo or injections, I dont know.
EDIT: Please don't ask about cutters on the forum. Thanks.
The only thing holding me back from self castration is I want it done properly and also the obvious advantage of a doctor prescription for HRT.
My wife is very supportive and happy with the fact that I will end up a eunuch. She hasnt been interested in sex many years and probably feels if Im a eunuch I wont stray. There is some truth in that and I am getting sick and tired of looking at porn sites and wanking, so the lower or non existent libido will certainly be a plus. That was the reason for visiting the Archive over the years and fantasising about being a eunuch.
I hope I havent rambled on too much and look forward to future posts.
Regards,
Eunuch 52

I wish you good luck in finding the right treatment!

Of course, this is not entirely your situation, but maybe the following international medical standard will somehow help you:
Standards of Care for the Health of Transgender and Gender Diverse People, Version 8

Good luck in getting your orchiectomy.Mine were removed at 62 because of testicular pain, like yours. I went to a young female urologist, who was in her early-mid 30s and employed by a mayor hospital nearby. After I discussed my problem, she said, “OK . I’ll take them out.” I was truly surprised how easy it was. Within a month they were gone. I was elated. My wife too.

Re: An Australian Story
I'm not sure you would meet the usual criteria listed in the SOC v8 that Valery linked to above, (though you should given what you describe about your pain) but it might be worth seeing if there is a transgender center or clinic near where you live. Even if they aren't necessarily able to help you directly, they could point you at the surgeons they work with... I'd expect a surgeon that is used to doing TG surgeries would be more willing to listen to your wishes and work with you on meeting them.
The other option that may be worth considering is "medical tourism" My possibly mistaken impression is that it is a fairly short and inexpensive flight to get to Thailand from OZ, and I know from other threads here that there are definitely reputable doctors in Thailand that would be able and willing to do an orchiectomy. Supposedly they aren't even that expensive...
At any rate, welcome to the forum, and good luck in reaching your goal.

Hi, from Australia myself and I totally understand the frustration you are having with your doctor.

Re: An Australian Story
Hi. I have also had chronic testicular pain, mostly from my right testicle. It would often cause severe back pain, ended up in the ER twice because the back pain was so severe I couldn't walk. I have been on 25mg of Spironolactone for two months. The pain has 99% gone. The dose is low enough that I haven't had breast or nipple pain, and just some very mild hot flashes.

Re: An Australian Story
I have explored medical tourism, especially to Thailand where there are some very good hospitals doing a lot of TG work. The answer was no unless I was transgendering and I would have to have all the accompanying pych reports and been on specific hormones for 12 months. They changed their laws about 6 months ago. I could go to China or India, but there is not the same degree of medical tourism with these countries and very dicey, so have decided to give them a miss.

Check out Turkey! They have very good doctors, a big private healthcare industry and a different view on these kind of things because of their islamic culture.
