Can anyone here tell me how long this stop takes to work? What should be expected the first few weeks/months?

When I started on androcur, I noticed changes in about the end of the first week. I felt the body feel a little different around the end of the first week. The changes kept coming for the next few months. Erections kept getting weaker and harder to get it up and keep it up. Erections are no longer a problem, since they since they do not happen.

I started to get some night sweets in the second and still get them once in a while. Cock and balls are both getting smaller, which is very good. Body and face hair has changed.

I too took Androcur for a year before surgery. You should notice a change after about a week. Night erections and the morning woody will come to an end. The next thing is the night sweats and hot flashes. After about 3 months I noticed my nipples getting real tender and the tits have grown a little. Body hair is much thiner the beard is lighter and softer then before. The testicles will start shrinking. When mine were removed they were about half there normal size.

One thing I would add is make sure your doctor is informed as to what your taking and have him/her check you liver on a regular basis.

Good luck

Does your penis also shrink in size? If so, when does it start, shrinking and how much did it shrink by?

Also, did you also lose your muscle tone?

I have been hoping to have chemical castration, with shunk cock and balls, but would like to maintain my muscle tone. Is there anything I can try?

I still get erections once in a while so after a year on Androcur and castration last September. As for muscel tone, you will need to do a good workout, I go to the gym three times a week.

After many months of being on Androcur I have been made aware that I have lost muscle tone and gained some unwanted weight despite eating a careful diet. I have a damaged spine

and sadly the loss of muscle tone led me recently to find that

I was unable to get out of an English bath; just at the point where the body is pivoting and strain goes to te muscles I

have found that I fell back into the bath and I am worried about

this aspect. It's something I need to consider and reflect on

because both muscle loss and weight gain are the two things I could do without the most.

That said, it's taken 8 months for the lack of tone to become an issue and the positive benefits I have gained from Androcur have

aided me greatly.

I'm due to get professional advice v shortly as I do need to make my Dr and Urologist aware of the impact of the strain to my

spine which Androcur may have increased.

As a general point to anyone considering legitimate use of Androcur, yes, you will lose muscle tone eventually but more immediately total loss of libido, shrinkake, loss of erections -

all these occur quite rapidly :).

Thanks for the replies. If Androcur, and I suppose the loss of testorone, causes loss of muscle tone and strength, is there any alternatives that may produce the reduction on sex drive and sex organs, with a lower impact on muscle strength?

Maintaining muscle mass and lowering sex drive may be a catch-22 situation. Testosterone is responsible for the greater muscle mass that guys usually have. Take that away and the muscles will soon atrophy, along with the genitals. Of couse this is a YMWV sort of thing again. Although I started out as a chemically castrated eunuch, I took a much more extreme path to enhance the effects to gender reasignment. My job is physically demanding, although I still can do my work, I'm tired more by the end of the day now. Bottom line, with regular exercise and workouts you should be able to maintain muscle mass and lower your sex drive with chemicals at the same time.

I'm interested that we are all exchanging comment and views on

the effects of Androcur relating to muscle loss.

I'm like Sag in that I too have an underying condition - a spinal

problem - in my instance, while I appreciate Christina and Riverwind's earlier comments that exercise can aid muscle retention, this is an option only for people in fundamental good health otherwise. If pain and exhaustion already prevent exercising then unfortunately muscle tone can't be retained

and exercising isn't an option, sadly.

Every action and every drug has a reaction and like Sag I am also in agreement, living an enjoying the great benefits of Androcur

do outweigh this side-effect. Of course over a long period of time,

blocking testosterone does impact beyond the immediate

sexual closedown. I would say to anyone though that as long as their health is being monitored and that they engage with health

professionals about their usage of Androcur, that then an overall

view is known and they can be informed about their

continual use of it. Despite the muscle loss, I feel a much happier

taking it and would deeply regret any blasting of testosterone

around my body! Take care everyone and enjoy :)
