I was castrated today after wanting it for years. When I discovered the Eunuch Archive, I really didn't think the day would come. There weren't too many options back then. Now, I was able to do it close to home and had insurance cover much of the expenses (actually, I don't know how much it costs beyond what I had to pay). My fortune cookie last weekend said the new month would bring me a lot of happiness. I turned 50 this past winter and spent half my life wanting to become a Eunuch.

I feel it was somewhat anti-climatic. My therapist diagnosed me with OCD and the medications that were prescribed to control the OCD also acted a bit like chemical castration. I went from masturbating 10 times per week to maybe once a month. My last time masturbating was about 10 days ago. I decided not to do it one last time before the procedure.

I haven't started hormones yet. I am leaning towards testosterone as I don't want feminization. I have an appointment with the pride clinic next week where I hope to learn about the options available and start on hormones.

I'm so happy for you, that's wonderful. You sound like me, I've been hanging around here under several names almost since the start, like a ghost in the shadows most of the time. I wanted to be castrated since my early 20's and there was always a few reasons that kept me away from it even though I would have been much happier castrated. I'm going to be surgically castrated within a month. I'm waiting for my doctor's staff to set up my surgery date right now.

Two weeks post castration and scrotectomy. I was expecting more pain, and thankfully, it wasn't bad. Before the Orchiectomy, I was riding my bike 8-10 miles per day. Being limited to walking has been the hardest part of recovery. Next week, I have the follow up appointment with the surgeon.

I started on testosterone last weekend. I really haven't noticed much difference yet. I guess the biggest thing is not waking up in the middle of the night with an erection. I didn't try chemical castration before the orchiectomy, but the OCD medications had the side effect of lowering my sexual drive.

Congrats! I had mine 48 days ago. I plan on getting back on the bike this week. I miss riding terribly. Really ready to go back out in the woods on my MTB and ride hard.

I decided to forego HRT for now. See how it goes kinda thing. So far, so good. I get a little warm occasionally, especially in the evening, but it passes quickly. Otherwise, feeling no different really. I think my testicles had been dead for awhile. I had given up on Urologists years ago, so have no idea what my T level was prior to, or post surgery. I would tell them (and other doctors) what was going on and they just shrugged... Oh well.

All I can say is I am happy I had it done. Pain free for first time since 1997 and it feels great! My recovery went exceedingly well and I hope yours does as well. Just take it easy and don't do anything stupid. (That was hard for me, but I managed, sat down and read 3 books back to back for the first time in years!) Got back in the reading habit and am working on my 5th now! I think recovery from this went so well because I had and still have a positive attitude about the whole thing. It was not something I dreaded, but something I wanted. Makes a world of difference!
