Waiting for surgery

Post by Nathan74 (imported) »

After my CaCL injections my urologist wants to remove my testicles, and God am I happy! I was supposed to have a virtual visit to discuss things but my phone failed to wake me up and I missed the appointment. So now I have to wait another week. Normally it would have been a longer wait but the office staff expressed the need to see me asap to get the process of getting my insurance approval and my surgery scheduled which is what the appointment was for. So in a week I'll have that portion of the process going and then it's just a matter of a blood test and whatever else that they might want before I'm cleared for surgery.

I have been on TRT for close to 8 months now. I just started lowering my dose a little. My doctor recommended it because it was almost 1400 on my last test. It's likely closer to 1000 now. I forgot the measurement terms but you guys know what I'm talking about. It's still way too high and I want to go back to being castrated, just without the brain fog and the fatigue. I want to go off the TRT for a while and see what happens. I think a low dose of estrogen or a blend of estrogen and testosterone will be the right recipe for me.

I'm really excited about my surgery and I'm really looking forward to a more euphoric hormonal change. If anyone has any advice on taking low dose estrogen or a non binary blend of testosterone and estrogen please pm me.

Congratulations, hope things continue to go smoothly...

I've been on estradiol patches for quite a while now, currently 0.15mg / day dosage, changing the patches twice a week. This is what my TG doc says is 'normal' for a pre-menopausal woman, even though typical female values go through huge swings as they cycle. She says to aim for around a 100pg/mL level. I don't think I've seen anyone mentioning doing a blend of T and E at the same time.

I can't say that I've noticed major changes in my moods / emotions other than tending towards being a bit less aggressive when driving... For me at least it's subtle. I also haven't noticed a lot of physical change other than some growth in my breast, and my nipples are up all the time. I feel quite aware of it when I look down while naked, less so when dressed. Not sure what it will look like when the weather warms up and I switch to T-shirts, hopefully not to obvious...

I'm still waiting for my surgery consult - initial visit w/ surgeon scheduled for May 8th....

i am guessing the found the damage the cacl did on an ultrasound . did they tell you what they saw. i did the ever-clear still waiting on results .

but i no longer can make sperm or testosterone.

i am on t-gel. and hoping to have orchie on both.

Below is the results from the first ultrasound. Because of a clerical error I don't have the more detailed ultrasound as well as the pelvic MRI reports yet. I have an appointment this week, at which point I should have them. After the first ultrasound they sent me to a special testing center in a large nearby hospital. The ultrasound took at least 90 minutes or more. I started out with two technicians, and then a 3rd, and then the doctor came in that specializes in testicular problems. As far as serious damage is concerned they were very impressed. They wanted to know if I had any serious injuries to them in the past, or infections. Then they asked if I had anyone in my family with a history of testicular problems. The doctor was intrigued by the fact that I had two identical lesions on both testicles. She said that there was no blood flow at all and that they were dead tissue. It took longer than usual because my left testicle is so tiny and hard to get a good reading on, and they used me as a training prop. That wasn't planned, my balls were in such bad shape that other staff needed to investigate. The pelvic MRI followed, and nothing unusual happened there.

I got the impression that my condition was unusual but not suspicious in any way. I have no scars to give anything away, and I have a history of low T going back to a 2019 blood test. It all worked out perfectly. She also said that both testicles were calcified. I looked that conditioned up and it involves the formation of calcium crystals in the testicles and can lead to atrophy and other problems. I'll post my next set of results when I get them.
