Dear Forum,
About 12 years ago I started taking adderall for adult ADD. After a couple of weeks my testicles shrunk by 75% or more. There were absolutely no erections. My penis pulled back in length to about 1 1/2 inches. The whole situation scared me, so I went back to the doctor. They took me off the adderall immediately. I was prescribed ritalin and it works just fine.
I asked the doctor how and why the adderall shrunk my testicles. She said, "I don't know". That was the only answer I got. I hate it when doctors say that and do nothing to investigate the patients question. I have tried searching the internet and cannot find an answer either. Just being told that adderall is an amphetamine or barbituate does not really explain anything. I don't mean to be arrogant or rude. But sometimes I am surprised at what doctors do not know. Then at the same time I am grateful for the miraculous surgeries that I have received etc....
Does anyone have any ideas about the adderall and what causes the side effects?
Thank you,
Trevor
