Hi all,
Im a first time user of this website and this is my first post.
I was diagnosed at 48 years old with prostate cancer and decided to have the cyber knife as a treatment. It was not 100% successful and Im electing to receive low-dose brachytherapy in the coming months.
However, I have been considering castration at 52 years old for at least 10 years. I have no need for testicles having already had 2 sons. I havent explained this to my wife yet, but Im seeking more than a treatment for prostate cancer, but also a calmness, of having my balls removed. Its very rare that I have erections anymore and almost never have sex.

Re: Prostate Cancer
For me being a little more than 65 with no sexual penetration in the last 9 years I understand that time may come to cut that out. On the other hand my sex therapist told me that patience may pay in the long run. As she says imagine that you survive your wife...You may encounter another nice women in the future and then you would be happy to have some sexual life. But this might be good for someone with a still well active virility, which is not sure for the future (??) What a gamble. But when health issues are part of the reality it's another game and thinking of having some type of prostate cancer I think I would go for a safe elimination of the T manufacture and welcomming a more calm and feminine life. Prostate cancer for me is a good argument to go on for castration and I almost desire it as an outcome from my ambivalent position.

Re: Prostate Cancer
Thanks man…I appreciate all the input.
At this point, I’m having almost no sex, ED is setting in, and I’m seeking more radiation in April. If that doesn’t work again, I’m seeking castration, which works out because I’ve had this on my mind since before I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Also, I’m seeking a “calmness” and clearer form of mind and get rid of a sex drive that has been a complete distraction my whole life. My balls are on the larger side, and have been a distraction along with being uncomfortable for far too long.
I want them gone….this could be a blessing in disguise, as it were.

Re: Prostate Cancer
I just had another " abnormal" PSA test result. My last urologist told me , last time i had an unusual result, the results indicated an 80% probability of PC. After a biopsy she told me the results were all clear. After preparing for a confirmation, it was strange to be given the all clear. This test shows a 25% chance of having PC, so we will see. Same practice, but a new urologist. I have an appointment with her Monday.
