Scrotal removal, an OPINION

Had another private E-mail from someone doing research before his castration. GOOD!!! This is, after all, going to be a once in a lifetime experience if you go through with it, so you should research the subject thoroughly.

The question was about paying Dr. Kimmel for removal of the scrotum at the same time as the castration.

My own OPINION, based on my experience and from what I have read of other accounts, is that it might be better to postpone the scrotal removal to a later time.

I do think it is better to simply be castrated and let the scrotum heal thoroughly. For one thing, you will have several months with an empty scrotum, and may find it acceptable. If not, the removal of the empty scrotum will be a lot less stressful on the body then having both testicles and scrotum removed at the same time.

Un like Andrew I had the nuts and sac removed at the same time. this was way to evacive and my body really put up a fight even thou I used Androcur for a year and my testosterone level was nothing. Your body will object to having the balls removed, save the sac for another day.

Even with my testosterone level at 35 which is like none, my body still did not like the idea of me being castrated. I had phantom pains, I felt like I had just been kicked in the nuts, now its different from the cut between my legs. Castration is very evacive as surgerys go.

was reading through these posts as im planning castration and sac being removed as well. i was planning to have both done at the same time but now after reading the posts from Andrew and Riverwind i might just get them done seperate thanks to both for there comments it gives u something to go on from someone whos been through it

However, after your advice (and the same from a couple of others) I have rethought it and will now do a two stage procedure. My question - how many months should I wait between the two? Any recommendations?

You want the castration wound to completely heal. Talk to your Physician. Six months should be enough for things to settle down. Maybe even three.

If you are looking for the "smooth" look, then go for it.

However, if you are a M-F transexual, looking for a future conversion, you had better save the plastic surgeon as much skin as you can for him/her to work with.

Very good point, dear!

Especially since newer techniques often depend on using scrotal skin for the vaginal lining and labia. The loss of the sac can make the surgery difficult or impossible. The surgeon may refuse treatment.

This is good advice.

Thanks again for the advice. I'm not a transexual so scrotal removal won't be an issue. If I've already been castrated by the time my scrotum is removed, how long a healing time should I expect?
