I grew up in the usual christian family. We were supposed to find someone of the opposite gender, settle down, and start a family. I've never been into women. I even tried men secretly. I've always found being around others uncomfortable. In my 20s, I self-diagnosed myself with Aspergers syndrome. There are other conditions that I self-diagnosed myself with. Most of those conditions are medical, or neurological. My parents just ignored my pleas for help. Since sometime around the year 2000, I have been considering what I want for myself. What would make ME happy? I have tried Depo Provera shots on and off whenever I could afford it. Once, I accidentally injected the dp directly into the vein. Unfortunately, the effects were short lived. The upside was that I had the most incredible feeling of calm. That feeling of no sex drive at all was incredible. I decided that, that was what my goal is.
My urges without medication come up at a minimum 5 times a day. When unemployed, I would pleasure myself a dozen times a day easily. All that time spent pleasuring myself has meant massive amounts of my life wasted. I'm currently on a number of meds right now. With those meds, I pleasure myself once every few days. It's not perfect, but it's a massive improvement. All of the meds are from online suppliers and paid out of pocket. I don't have any medical insurance. I can't really afford it, with all my bills. I could keep buying meds, but I just want to get it over with. I've waited for too many years.
My house is being sold, and I'm replacing it with a smaller house. I have a few repairs to do first. I really don't need that big of a house. I decided that whatever is left from the sale of that house is going towards my operation. Hopefully, within half a year, I'll be debt free, and ball free.
P.S. I will be getting medical insurance after all of that.

How did you confirm your diagnosis?
Have you consulted a doctor?
True, and at present, physicians still have many questions and disputes about this condition.

Welcome to the forums, and hoping you make good progress towards your goals.
As discussed a lot in other threads, they have recently released a new set of protocols for dealing with folks like you describe yourself as being. Look for information about the WPATH SOCv8. Until you get health insurance, it may be a challenge to pay out of pocket, but once you have it, you should be covered for most of the costs of getting MD managed medical care, including surgery.
You should start by looking for a Transgender Clinic in your area and reaching out to it for advice as to next steps. You will need to convince them that you are serious in your desire and understand the consequences. I'm not a professional, but based on your post, it sounds like you shouldn't have a lot of difficulty doing this. They may insist on a period of chemical castration before surgery, which sounds like what you've been doing (probably w/ better managed medications) and possibly some extra psych work, but it should be a fairly straightforward process.
