Is voluntary castration becoming more popular in America, or is it just more out in the open, like in the Eunuch Archive? For me, it was a dream of many decades, and only recently did I discover 'safe' and painless ways to do it. And I did it.

I think the idea and desire has always been around. It has just recently become more available because American Doctors are more willing to do the procedure and many insurance companies will pay for the surgery. Medicare paid for my bilateral orchiectomy.

Also I think people are more willing to be open about it. When I was first castrated few people wanted to talk about it, and now I know several people who had questions and either have gone though getting castrated or are planning on it within the past few years, which makes it seem like its more common.

Elective castration must be more popular since advent of the internet not only in US but other countries that have access to the web as guys can congregate, exchange ideas and information and form elective choices. The cultural castration of males has gone the other way and is rare compared to what it was historically. Access to surgeons willing to perform this surgery particularly in the US and Mexico has helped popularity in the US since if you are seriously considering it and have the money it’s pretty much accessible.

Strangely, most of the photo and video evidence of castration and nullification making the rounds today is coming out of China and Vietnam. Though Thailand seems to have a bit as well.

There seems to be a new Chinese nullo about once a week. Sometimes on video, other times just in photos. About a month ago, there was a Thai man who posted a video of his glansectomy surgery.

I can only hope that the Europe health authorities at some point also becomes more liberal and accepting towards males who want to be freed from their testicles. Counseling etc. prior to the event as a mandatory gateway, I’m perfectly fine with, as long as it becomes possible for us.

Personally I don’t dare go to Mexico to have it done, and I don’t have the kind of money required for a US based doctor.

Getting castrated has never been "easy" but it is "easier" today, though you'll still need to get a letter from a psychologist/psychiatrist. (Chemical castration is the easiest and it's a beginning or starting place). It will require time and some work, but no more than maybe six to eight months. What you won't need from most doctors is to live life as a woman for several months, which was necessary in the past, because they all believed that getting castrated meant you wanted to changes sexes. Today, you'll need to visit a psychologist or maybe a psychiatrist (depending where you live) and explain to them why you want to be or need to be castrated. Find a young female psychologist/psychiatrist and tell them you 1) hate your sex drive and how it makes you feel 2) you cannot control your sex drive and you're afraid of acting it out 3) You choose to be sexless and think about castration constantly. DO NOT TELL THEM THAT YOU'VE ATTEMPTED TO CASTRATE YOURSELF! You might end up in the psych ward. Remember, the journey is part of the process in achieving your goal of castration.

I hope it will become more available here in Europe. I talk to more and more men that want / need this, but still find it very difficult to have it done . For many European men it is to expensive to have it done in the USA.

@julian--- Where did you look to get it done then? I am still (impatiently ) on the waitinglist for transhealthcare. With the outcome of SOCv8, at least transcare shouldn't be that binary anymore. Start at your GP (?? I mean "huisarts"). Evil Activities already made a song about it: "Nobody said it was easy".

I certainly think the concept that a man may want to become a eunuch is more acceptable today. I think the younger generation have driven the normalisation of trans and non binary people more in the last ten years than at any time in history. Unfortunately I think becoming a eunuch but not trans is still viewed conservatively by the medical establishment but hopefully things will change soon.
