New WPATH SOC 8 getting published soon - Includes Eunuchs and Non-Binary

I am so frustrated actually, but I've been so frustrated all my life from long before I ever knew there would be a WPATH to frustrate me that I think i can weather bit of it too.

so tell me what you think Losrthem and or anyone, I already postponed my psych gatekeeper appointment til the end of Sept. but I now feel prompted to proceed SOC8 or not.

I already requested estrogen therapy from my endocrinologist. hopefully she will fill the prescription shortly. I'm guessing I'll have it before the end of September so I'm covered in that respect.

I don't really believe there is a valid connection between hormone therapy and a penectomy and cosmetic only vaginoplasty.but if I'm on estrogen, isn't it a moot point?

I do have evidence of social transitioning even though most is on line and though I'm not interested in dressing as a woman, there are several aspects of how I dress and present myself that I believe show my feminine leanings.

I'm thinking it will be safe to proceed and see the psych gatekeeper and request moving forward to the rest of my gender affirming surgery even if by the end of September there is still no SOC8.

Congratulations on getting the estrogen scrip - what form are they going to be giving it to you in? I'm using the patches and they seem to work very well for me.

I don't see there being a lot of direct connection between estrogen and surgery, beyond needing something to replace the hormones supplied by the balls, which you've already dealt with... However it probably wouldn't hurt the discussion to point out your choosing to use E instead of T as evidence of your leanings....

I'd be seriously amazed if SOC 8 isn't out by the upcoming WPATH conference on 9/16-20, as I believe it was Jesus that pointed out that something like 17 out of the 23 scheduled presentations are supposed to be based on talking about it, and it would be hard to talk about something that hasn't been released... The note about the delay said 7-10 days, on the 6th, which just barely gets it out in time...

Worst case, I could see them possibly handing out dead tree copies at the conference (which I would expect that some in our community are attending? - I haven't seen anybody say so, but...) and we would have to wait for it to get pushed out through underground channels...

hi, i didn't see this until now. or if i did maybe it was while i was sleeping. a possibility. anyway i'm still waiting for the E. maybe my doctor is like WPATH when it comes to releasing things! at this point i'm not expecting SOC 8 at any particular time at all. and i still need to get things done before the little testosterone i have tries to take hold and do me more harm. so i'll do my best to be as SOC 7 compliant as possible. anything to make completion of surgery a reality.
