I'm a male in my forties. I'm bi, but favor women. I've had some trauma which affected my sexual and mental health.
I've tried a number of things which didn't solve my issues, and have decided on becoming a eunuch.
I don't want to be defined or influenced by my male sex drive or characteristics anymore. I want to be defined by my more objective values and ideals, and not have them tainted by male aggression or sexual desires and considerations.
I can't be approved for orchiectomy where I live, so I am exploring elastration. I had considered chemical castration, but it doesn't make the statement or commitment I seek. It is dangerous, though, so I'm hoping to find info to make it safer and successful.
Looking for Info, and a place where I can be open and honest

Judging by your post, you might think that the trauma increased your sexual activity??
Therefore, do you consider it necessary for yourself to take measures to reduce it?
Maybe, after all, you should not rush and take drastic measures. Maybe you just need to heal and everything will be restored to the previous level?
Please forgive me for my naivety.

Re: Looking for Info, and a place where I can be open and honest
The trauma broke and damaged my sexuality and masculinity. I've tried many ways, and many doctors, to fix it. It causes me distress daily.
The masculine drives and identity are with me always, intruding subtly into decisions and interactions. I'd rather not be influenced by either sex or masculinity. I want to be JUST my rational and moral values, not the aggressive or dominating, sexually-motivated male.
My experience has been that the most beautiful and wonderful interactions and connections I've had have been ruined and complicated by sexual desires. It rather just have intellectual and emotional intimacy WITHOUT sex, but all my life it has corrupted my intentions and contributions to relationships.
After two decades of working to overcome and silence this basic human impulse, I am ready to simply excise that part of my person.

I sympathize with you.
It seems to me that you should be honest with your doctors and also follow their recommendations.
Maybe they will meet your desire ...

Have you done any reaching out to your local area Transgender Clinics? I have not heard that your area is particularly restrictive. It is also worth noting that the WPATH "SOC v8", currently in a 'draft' version is due to be formally released soon, rumor has it some time in August...
This is the 'bible' for professionals in the TG world, which also includes non-binary and all it's variations, including eunuchs. SOC v8 has an entire chapter devoted to eunuchs and several other parts that are directly applicable to us. It no longer requires people to 'transition' to the opposite sex, and greatly reduces the number of hoops one must go through...
It does start by strongly recommending a period of chemical castration as a 'test' before surgery unless there are strong reasons to skip it. This is what I'm going through right now, through a TG center in Boston. The chemical castration process is pretty well understood as it is essentially what is done for men w/ hormone sensitive prostate cancer and similar issues. If done under medical supervision it is NOT particularly dangerous, or at least not worse than many other medical treatments.
I'd be very surprised if you wouldn't be able to get help through the medical system where you are.

Thank you so much, guys. Great info and advice.
I may just push for chemical castration for a while to show my commitment and then see what my options are.

This!
This puts in words what I'm feeling as well.
I hope you will find it. The kind of closure you may be looking for.
Good luck.
