Libido what's yours?

Post by photoglenn (imported) »

Before castration my balls were already infarcted from multiple cases of epididimymo orchitis and I was taking testosterone gel.

I still had a libido.

After castration due to the infarcted testicles I continued taking testosterone gel and still had a libido.

Last year my libido ceased to exist, which caused me considerable angst, frustration, and anxiety.

I still have no libido, although I am not axesual as I still crave sex, enjoy sexual images, porn, and fantasies.

But sexual cravings are never satisfied since I have no libido, can not get an erection or orgasm.

What are your experiences with testosterone gel?

I am thinking that perhaps my body has changed, adapted to the gel, and no longer responds to it at all, even though a recent lab blood test and doctor's report indicates that my T level is in the "normal' range.

Thus I can only assume that the testosterone gel is not working at all and my body is doing something to cancel out it's effectiveness.

It's an unknown, but is causing me considerable ongoing despair.

Unlike you I feel much more simply as I am asexualy.

I would like to suggest that your discomfort is still associated more with your psychological habits than with the physical state of your body.

I do not feel special concern when I accept or on the contrary I do not accept testosterone. I have no need to watch its level in my blood.

Even it seems to me that my organism adapted to that level which is developed by my adrenal glands as I was castrated at rather young age and never before I took the drugs suppressing production of own testosterone.

Also, I did not abuse external testosterone, believing that this could suppress the production of my own testosterone.

You really ought to have your doctor refer you to an Endocrinologist. Your may need to switch from gel to injections. You apparently aren't getting what you need out of the gel.

I've been on shots and hated the Libido that it caused. I started adding time between my shots and thankfully my Libido dropped out of sight again. What don't think about I don't miss.

Thank You for your reply and comments.

I am sure this will be ongoing emotional issues for me.

It looks like I may never again have a libido or enjoy a sexual experience.

I've been on Androgel since 2015. Low T runs in my family, so it was not a surprise. My libido is moderate to high, but spontaneous erections are fairly rare. My overall erectile function seems largely linked to background stress.

It could be that your testicles were producing a small amount that is not present now, and your dosage may need to be adjusted. But, I have also read accounts of people having to increase their dosages.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks for sharing.

I have tried on my own increasing the dosage, with no useful result.

I use to have a decent libido when first starting the T Gel, but in the past year it has completely disappeared.

It may require a full blown hormonal test to find out what is going on, or perhaps my body has started to reject or ignore the T Gel altogether .

I have discussed this with my doctor in the past and he prescribed an ED medicine which did not help at all.

So, next visit I will pursue this with him in greater detail.

In the meantime, I will have to endure with no libido and constant sexual frustration as I crave sex, and have desires, but with no ability to achieve satisfaction sexually I am always on edge, both physically and mentally.

Thus this is a work in progress.........

What are your t levels when tested? How much gel do you use and do you take anastrozole with it to keep e2 under control? If so, how much and how often? If you overdo anastrozole, it can drive your e too low which will kill libido in many men and cause impotence. Too much e can do the same. You can also do weight training which increases the amount of T receptors which allows your body to use the t.

My personal experience is that no libido has always been the results of either stress or when I stopped taking Cialis. I have used Androgel for the past 10 to 12 years with no problems except when under stress or when directed to stop taking low dose Cialis (usually because of an upcoming surgery). My libido always returned when the stress was removed or when I resumed Cialis. I am 74 and was castrated along with my scrotum being removed in April of this year. I have no underlying health issues except high blood pressure which is controlled by medication. For what it is worth, I love the look and feel of being smooth under my cock. Don't underestimate the effects of long-term stress, in fact I believe that is what killed my libido back years ago.

I'm on a low dose of Tostran, a testosterone gel since I've been castrated one and a half years ago. My libido is close to zero, I am still able to get an erection if I want to without any stimulating medication but I don't get any spontaneous ones and I am not interested anymore in any sexual interaction.

Have to say I'm very happy this way!

Extremely high. I feel it is affecting my decisions as a professional sports coach. When I am awake I think of nothing but food, sex and playing sport. I now swim after playing professional sports for nearly 20 years, but now coach for a team. I cannot make judgements without passion, this needs to change. I need Eunuch calm NOW.
