I don't think they specifically call out nullification as such, but there are plenty of mentions of "gender affirming surgery" and similar phrases, so presumably one could put nullification into that same category...

What you describe may not be included in eunuchs, but I'm guessing the other new chapter of non-binary would likely cover that.

AT LAST!

The end is FINALLY in sight! An email from WPATH today indicated that the WPATH Standards of Care 8th edition will be available open-source, on-line, free download, sometime in August. Two more months to go, but it should be a great help to all.

I'll post a link as soon as it's available.

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! Sooner than I was expecting, as my money had been on the WPATH conference in September, but I guess they want to get it out ahead of time so they'll have something to talk about at the conference...

Thank you for all the work you and others have put into making this happen!

🙏

For those of you waiting, SOC 8 is on step 20 of 22.

You'd think I was kidding about the total steps, but I'm not.

However steps 21 and 22 seem simple compared to earlier steps, so I'm sure it's going to be out next month, and if not, it's not going to be much longer. The SOC 8 is finished, and is in the publishing process as we speak. So think of the current wait like waiting for your favorite book to come out. It's written, just hasn't been put "on sale" yet.

Good to hear that things are progressing as we've been expecting... Anxiously awaiting the publication to go 'on sale'

this is so weird. somehow I actually recently have gotten in the “loop” for treatment at my local trans gender place, and am scheduled to meet with the same psychiatrist who I saw twice before who spicifically told me I'll never qualify for surgery if I don't comply with SOC7. My appointment is September 1 so the difference may be a matter of days! I do believe I'll be walking some kind of tightrope then since i felt that this psychiatrist sincerely believed i will never qualify no matter what since i did not want to become fully a woman. that is most likely because i find it difficult to express my similarities but differences in where my transgender needs exist to a person who is not all that open minded. I managed getting the orchi already anyway. now hopefully I can get the work finished in a way that is appropriate to me and compliant with SOC 8 too.

Well assuming SOC 8 is out by then, it certainly sounds like it would be helpful to have a copy in your hand with all the relevant bits marked, so that you can effectively point out that SOC 7 isn't relevant, and how you should be able to get what you want per each chapter and verse in SOC 8... Between the eunuch and non-binary chapters especially you should be well covered, with additional backing from the rest of the document.

I've looked through the Draft SOC 8, and it seemed there were applicable sections in almost every chapter.

Even if it isn't out I'd still be sure to have a copy of the draft....

If you have trouble with them telling you you're not valid, then you BEAT THEM OVER THE HEAD with this:

https://www.wpath.org/soc8

Tell them to click on the chapter titles link. Who you are is in there.
