Oh wow. I had stopped checking his blog because it had not been updated. Such sad news.
I don't read it as a complication from his surgery, but he is obviously not 100%sure what caused it, most likely hormones. He sounds very positive about his penectomy i think.

Strokes (for those that might not know) are caused by blood clots. There's a lot of stuff out there that contributes to clots, and therefore, strokes.

Very true, but hormones are definitely on the list of clot causes... I know that one of the biggest concerns my TG doc had about my going on this journey is the risk of blood clots... Being in a chair already puts me at increased risk for them, and she didn't want to add to that risk... I'm not saying the hormones were the cause in Sean's case, just that it is definitely a possibility, which has led to the doctors telling him to go hormone free from now on.
