The bad thing about castration is that it removes the only source of estrogen as well because the body creates estrogen using an enzyme to chop the testosterone molecule in a specific location which turns it into estrogen. The hot flashes you feel are from your estrogen levels dropping below a certain threshold. The change in hormones also causes fat to shift from the lower face which is feminizing and gives a more youthful look. Hormones also change the color and depth of skin which is one of those things where people notice a change but they can't tell you what it is.
