Re: Hair Removal
I’m currently doing full body laser treatment and it is going well. The general advice I’ve picked up is to do laser first then electrolysis for what laser didn’t eliminate. Electrolysis is regarded as permanent where laser can’t claim permanent but rather hair reduction. While you will need many sessions with laser (I’ll likely need 10 to 12) they are quick at around 70 to 80 minutes for full body whereas electrolysis is I understand hair by hair so to do full body with electrolysis is not practical. Four sessions in and I’m happy with results and I was pretty hairy, I’m reasonably confident that if we keep at this rate I’ll be mostly smooth by session 8 and I’ll go to 12 if I need to. Thereafter therapist said I’ll likely need to maintain so that I guess will entail a session every 6 months to a year but not sure on that.

Re: Hair Removal
I had my pubic hair removed by electrolysis. I had light colored hair so laser was out. I used blend electrolysis as flash [thermolysis] didn't seem to work. I will say that when I made the commitment to a regular schedule progress was quite rapid. That is because when they can catch the hairs as they are regrowing they zap easier, and because hairs are vulnerable when regrowing, not when grown. Blend does hurt some but not all that much, though occasionally a hair is sitting right on top of a nerve and you feel it.
I like the feel of it being smooth.
It took some effort to find an electrologist, but it wasn't all that hard. Jut look on their website and see if they mention doing trans patients. Use clinical terminology [ie, say you want the hair removed from your genitals, not your balls]. Be prepared to be turned down a few times. But in NJ you can certainly find someone. Worst case go to NYC where there are dozens.
Good luck to you

Re: Hair Removal
Mid-Atlantic folks, UVA does electrolysis and laser hair removal through their Dermatology department. I'm not sure if you have to be a patient of their Transgender department (which are amazing people, by the way) or not. I have a consultation with them on, ironically, April 20th (4/20), so I'll know more then and report back.

Re: Hair Removal
i had complete hair removal below the neck. Laser caught the bulk of hair, with electrolysis getting the stragglers from laser. There has been very little regrowth, and the regrowth is treated with occasional follow-up electrolysis.
The pain level was mostly mild for both methods, with the chest having the greatest sensitivity.
i had extra treatments under the arms and between the legs, both to ensure that i could never grow adult male pattern hair there again. Because those areas had dark coarse hair against light skin, the laser was very effective there.
Neither the laser technicians nor electrologist flinched at working between the legs —- the experience was purely clinical.
my body is smoothly prepubescent. i am very glad to be permanently and completely deprived of pubic hair.

SmallPenis (imported) wrote: Mon Mar 28, 2022 10:27 am Can anyone give advice on laser hair removal versus electrolysis?
A number of years ago I had laser hair removal in NYC. There were very little to no results.
I contacted a place in NJ about electrolysis. The owner was very nice and said that she and no one she knows is doing electrolysis treatment on the genital area and suggested laser hair removal.
I told about having it done in NYC and she said that the standards in NY state were not as good as in NJ and that I should find a medical doctor to do laser in NJ.
I contacted a surgeon in NJ who does non-binary vaginoplasties. His office does laser but is moving that service from NJ to NYC which made me question the validity of the service.
I don't know what to do at this point.
Thanks for any advice.
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is the process whereby a monochromatic beam of light is focused on the hair follicle. The laser targets the pigment and melanin and damages the reproductive cycle of the hair, without damaging the skin.
It typically takes between four to six treatments to see final results, and each session is spaced out four weeks (for the face) or six weeks (for the body). A patient will not see results right away and should plan to undergo more than one session for best results, depending on the hair and skin color.
That the total price of the laser hair removal procedure depends on the area of the body, with prices ranging from $300 to $1000.
What is electrolysis?
While laser hair removal uses light energy to remove hair area by area, electrolysis uses electric currents and targets one hair follicle at a time. A very fine thin needle is placed in the opening of the hair follicle, where heat and chemical energy destroy hair cells.
Since the treatment targets each individual hair that depending on the area, the full treatment can last anywhere between four to 18 months but once it's done, it's permanent.
And as with laser hair removal, the price of electrolysis depends on the treatment area, geographical location, and electrologist.
What does the process of getting laser hair removal look like?
In laser hair removal, highly concentrated beams of light are absorbed by the melanin cells in hair follicles. These pigmented cells absorb the light, which is ultimately converted into heat this halts normal hair growth.
Laser hair removal can be performed anywhere on the body and treatment can take as little as five minutes for the upper lip or chin to as much as 40 minutes for full legs.
What does the process of getting electrolysis look like?
A thin wire is inserted under the surface of the skin that creates electrical currents to destroy hair follicles at the root, preventing further hair growth. You might feel heat or a subtle sting during this process.
As the treatment is so time-consuming the most popular areas for electrolysis are on the face, such as the cheek, chin, and upper lip areas but it can be done anywhere on the body.
What's the best way to choose which treatment is best for you?
Which treatment you choose depends on your skin tone, how quickly you want results, and how much you're willing to pay.
Laser targets pigment and melanin. As such, lasers will not work on white, red, or light blonde hair. People with dark skin tones may have difficulty obtaining results as well. However laser hair removal is a faster process as it covers larger areas the body.
On the flip side, if laser doesn't seem to be calling your name and you're willing to take your time and spend a little more money, electrolysis may be the right option for you.
It tends to be time-consuming, as the needle has to penetrate one individual hair follicle at a time. Along with time, electrolysis treatments can add up in costs and expenses.
However, electrolysis is the preferred hair removal treatment for smaller body areas with fewer hairs, such as the face or underarms.

While I shaved most of the time, I did use an IPL serval times, with many full body sessions. Its unfortunate that IPL has yet to prove to be 100% effective, as each session was about three hours of getting zapped by electricity.
Ever since switching from herbal estrogen to HRT, Ive been hair free for the last two years. I absolutely love it.
Good Luck.
My experience is similar, except that I just shaved and used IPL, but I absolutely hated my body hair. The combination of damaging my testicles with CaCl2 and female hormones has given me a maintenance-free hair-free body, except for some pubic. Love it, and I get boobs as well!

Re: Hair Removal
I had my pubic hair completely removed by "Electrolysis by Kelly" in Oak Park Illinois. I am very well pleased and would recommend her highly. I had three appointments each about 4 hours long. I had to fly in and out the same day to avoid hotel costs. She had a doctor there to administer a local anesthetic. I had it done before my castration and scrotum removal and could have avoided some cost by getting the balls and sack off first. I love the results of both the castration and hair removal. I am on Androgel and have a very high libido and enjoy the look and feel of being smooth below my penis.
