It was over a decade ago that I first discovered the EA. It was more open then, but I do understand the changes. I would visit from time to time until I couldn't.
A few years ago, I rediscovered the archive via the Wayback Machine. And, more recently, found the real thing and decided to join.
I've been writing fiction for my own amusement for a long time. I started a decade or so before I had ever heard of the EA: it actually began when I was in junior high. In those early days, I would destroy that fiction so it wouldn't be discovered. And I realize it began even earlier in my mind. I've always loved writing fiction, so I've developed several universes. But one universe in all my creations came from that young part of me which was fascinated with the idea of life without genitals.
Over time, my universe evolved and I developed rules, a history, characters, and more. As I've read stories in the EA, I realized that this universe that involved cutting was not unique. It gave me comfort and direction as I developed it. I'm not one for graphic sex scenes or even graphic scenes of genital excisement. My interest has been more about people who are living with this state in a science fiction universe. And, as you might guess from my username, I am from a rural place, and I my fiction is (mostly) set in rural places. I want to share the stories of normal people who are cut.
I've been reworking and organizing some of my stories, and I would like to soon share them. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I want to get a series of my stories ready before I start sharing: I know I can be crippled by self-doubt which could really limit my output. So I set a goal of August this summer to complete and begin submitting a complete set of stories. By making that goal somewhat public, I hope to force myself to get these stories into a good form. And, hopefully, that will get me to publish more after that.
Discovering this archive has helped me a lot. It helped me so much to realize that I am not alone. For me, the fantasy is not the reality. I'm content to live the reality while I enjoy the fantasy in my writing and reading.
None of you knew I was there, but this place has helped me a lot!
