Revision and simplification of guidelines for story acceptance to EA’s Fiction Archive:
Revised 02-10-2022.
Spelling and Grammar: Your story must be easy to read. Use spell check. Grammatical nightmares will be rejected. Ask for a beta reader on the forums if you're unsure.
Quotation marks around dialogue are a must.
For example: “Hello,” he said, “I’m a eunuch!”
Conversations - When the speaker changes, use a new paragraph. For example:
"Hello," said Jane.
"Hello," replied Connie.
"Help!" exclaimed Steve.
Don't run them all together, as it makes it hard to figure out who's talking.
Stories must be long enough to have a plot or theme. They cannot be one big block of text. They must make sense.
Fanfiction – It’s perfectly acceptable. We have some posted. Fanfiction is set in a universe such as Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, etc.
Paragraph formatting – Just hit ENTER once, do not double space, or leave blank lines between paragraphs in a standard new document in either Libre, Word, or Open Office.
When opening your new document, before writing in it, choose SELECT ALL and right click in the body, take the "paragraph" option, and set the AFTER spacing to .20" or so. Then you can hit ENTER once and get a good paragraph break without causing a double line break between paragraphs.
Odd spacing in a story – will be rejected. There is a pattern to copy/paste submissions here, and it’s a dead giveaway to copying text from other sites.
Character set – Word, Open Office, browsers, etc. will usually be fine “right out of the box” with the character set they use. If you don’t know what this is, please don’t change yours to something odd once you figure it out!
Tags - for story content ID – Such as S, G, TG, or whatever must be used. We may edit or add more tags. Failure to use any tags will likely result in rejection. When you submit your story, feel free to give the Editor descriptive tag words.
Unacceptable MAIN content:
I’m going to pretty much open this up, but please, use those tags! Warn the editors so they aren’t surprised, or throw up reading your story! If you snuff a character, say so! If it’s violent, use the “warning” tag.
Some common extra tags are “medical”, “amputation”, “chemical”, “violence”, “death”. You get the point. You can tell us to use any word as a tag that fits the story.
Snuff – this is where the whole theme is all about killing the hero of the story and not much else. Such stories are unacceptable. Collateral damage deaths are OK though. Even if the story involved the castration of “our hero”, if the whole point of the story is just to kill him, it’s unacceptable. This falls under glorification of violence.
MINORS: Yes, we do accept stories where “our hero” is a minor.
This means under the age of 18 in the USA. Please use the tag “minor” when writing about minors. The exception to this is BABIES/TODDLERS as the main character(s). No stories about them will be accepted. That's just wrong. You can mention them in passing, but “our hero” cannot be a two-year-old!
An example: “No,” said the cutter, as he checked his gelding tools, “I won’t castrate a boy younger than six years old! Come back when he’s older.”
Or: “His testicles were crushed when he a baby, but he survived it.”
If in doubt, just ask.
Authors should know that as of this date, stories involving minors will be double-verified by two Admin's before they are accepted for posting in The Fiction Archive.
Off-topic themes - This is EA. Genital mutilation/abuse is the story theme. Circumcision counts. Anything that damages the genitals counts, such as ballbusting. Fiction without an EA theme is unacceptable. Use the tag “female” for femcirc, etc., when "our hero" is female. Also, if “our hero” is a eunuch, that’s enough for acceptance. Just have him mention it now and then.
Plagiarism: Plagiarism (claiming someone else’s work as your own) is never acceptable. If you want to rewrite another author’s story, or use “their universe”, get permission if possible. If that is not possible, contact an Admin. If we find out your story was stolen from somewhere else, it will be removed.
Translations: If you love an existing story enough to translate it (not modify it) into another language, then by all means, do so and sign up as a beta reader.
Non-English Stories: Are acceptable. Put the language in the title. Example: “My Story – German.” or “Meine Geschichte – Deutsch”.
HTML code: Unacceptable. Plain black text with bold or italic only. Links are not allowed in stories! No crazy fonts either; please use the common ones. The exception: Academic links, which will be check by an Admin. For example, a link to a scientific study or such.
Use a program such as MS Word, or OpenOffice or Libre to write and save your story. Include your story as an attachment to your submission email. Do not write your story in the email body box.
Email the story file to eafictionarchive (@) treemail (dot) net . Include your story description, tags and username in the body of the email. Attach the file. Do not paste it into the email body.
EXAMPLE: When you email in your story, the email body should look much like this;
To: eafictionarchive @ treemail . net (remove the spaces!)
From: YourName (or you can just put “Anonymous”)
Subject: EA Story (or something like that)
Attachment: myfirststory.doc
(Again, do not paste the body of your story into the email body!)
Title - My Story
Written by - My Username (or Anonymous)
Email - [email protected] (or say, "Do not include my email.")
Tags - Gay, Penectomy, Testicles, Alcohol, Chemical (Feel free to add more descriptive tags!)
Description or a story summary - Two men walk into a bar. A bar bet goes horribly wrong and a new joke, as well as a new eunuch, is born.
Also, we repeat: include whether to post your email address or not. We respect your privacy, and if you wish to remain anonymous, you must tell us so in your email. If you do not do this, your email address will be posted with your story. Some authors want people to contact them via email, some do not. This is entirely up to you!
Anyone who has any questions should send a PM or email to Paolo or Bella ONLY. Copies of rejections will neither be saved nor sent back to you. We will tell you what to change, though, if we reject it.
If these guidelines are too much to ask to try and insure the smooth operation of the story section, then please go and post your story somewhere else and see what kind of response you get back. These guidelines are fairly lax in comparison to some of the other big sites.
EA Story Submission Guidelines - Revised 02-10-2022

Yes, I had a copy. Good thing, too. I accidentally deleted the original thread!

From the Nun on translations:
Please take note if you are submitting a translation to another language of an existing story in our Archive.
Do NOT list yourself as the author of the story. The original author MUST be listed as the author. You can add a by line in the story listing yourself as the translator. You must also provide a link to the original story.
Henceforth, all stories submitted as translations must be properly "authored" and tagged for language and source. Failing that, the translations will be deleted. Googler (or other) machine translations will be deleted. We must be able to get a good read on the translation.

Edit: The rule against links in stories has been modified, as academic links for obscure facts, and placing those links in footnotes, is acceptable. Jesus A. loves footnotes, you know.

If you click on the submission guidelines link, on the website itself it links to this page: http://www.eunuchworld.org/story_guidelines.htm
the link to "for further guidelines, see this post on the forum" links to here: http://forums.eunuch.org/showthread.php ... t-Anything! and simply now comes up as no thread specified.
any way to update the site so it links to this thread instead?

Thanks.
I totally forgot about that when I accidentally killed the old thread!
We'll get on fixing that.

I'm curious what the tags are. I've been editing some stuff together and I came to this question.
Is there an official list somewhere?
Aside from that, this post was extremely helpful. Thank you for the detail!

The standard tags have been:
S - straight (sexual theme)
G - gay
Bi - bi
None - if a sexual theme doesn't really apply
Testicles, Penectomy, Nullification, depending on what happens.
Other tags are always helpful, and appreciated.

I'd say include any tags you wish with your submission. Those Paolo outlined are the general tags used to place the stories in a category in the fiction archive, but additional tags are useful to the readers to help them find stories matching the type they'd like to read.
Additionally, gender of the participants is welcomed (M) Male, (F) Female, (TG) Transgendered.
My belief on tags is more is usually better. It helps the readers sort the stories for themselves.

Re: EA Story Submission Guidelines - Revised 02-10-2022
is there an alternative way to submit stories? I have issues with getting it to work as an attachment? Could I pm it to someone via the board?
