New member of the Eunuch Family - snipped January 12th
Howdy, y'all. Delighted to report that after 25 years of being consumed by the fixation and conviction that I was always destined to become a eunuch -- 25 years which I have likened to swatting a fly that won't go away -- I finally crossed the line and got the snip on January 12th, thanks to the skills and care of Dr Heidi Wittenberg and her marvelous Bay Area team.
Obviously this has been a long journey and I could write at length. Perhaps over time I will. In the meantime I just want to introduce myself and say hello to you all.
Sincerely,
nigel

You and I have spoken off and on over the years, and I'm glad you finally crossed the finish line. Congrats!

You will be so happy once you heal and get settled on a level of HRT if you decide to go that direction. Prior to my castration, I always thought that I was a happy person. After being castated, life had a new improved definition of happy. My only regret is that I wasn't cut much eariler in my life so I could enjoy the new me for a longer period of time. Life is so much better without nuts. Please keep us posted on your outcome. Congratulations to the the new you and to the Eunuch Brotherhood.

I hasten to add that all the people I worked with on this, including Dr Wittenberg, were truly wonderful BUT *very* strict in following WPATH protocols and will not help people looking for "quick and easy" surgery.
I went through all the proper channels to achieve this and it took me several years. Years of psychotherapy, WPATH-conforming letters of support, insurance company hoops to jump through, including a denial of coverage and a successful appeal of that denial.
If you are looking to do this "quick and easy" then you can find other less strict practitioners if you do your research, whether in the USA or overseas but those won't be the people I used.

Fortunately, there is a new Standards of Care being released soon which will address the needs of many people here. It should have come sooner, but I guess better late than never.
