Just bumping this into the "latest", as there's just one more day of entries left.

Praying it gets accepted... burning lots of incense! 🙏😇

Buck Angel has flipped!

Legendary trans pornographer Buck Angel ("Tranpa") has been prominent in opposition to the draft "Eunuch" chapter in WPATH SOC8 on Twitter and YouTube (on Rose of Dawn's channel). Anyway, if it was one of you who spoke to him, thank you so much. He has changed his mind and tweeted about it. I have much respect for Buck and his change of heart means a lot to me. Buck is widely respected and may influence other naysayers.

Buck is a blue-checkmark on Twitter and has his own Wikipedia page:

@BuckAngel

I have been speaking to a Eunuch who had cancer and why his genitals were removed. Its not a fetish, the ones who remove their genitals have dysphoria. I am now learning more about this

Yes exactly and after speaking with a eunuch I have a different opinion than before. Its a form of dysphoria

A change of heart after the damage was done. Comes out on the last day of the public comment period to say it after spending the rest of the period fighting us?

Excuse me if my thought on this is f**k him and the horse he rode in on.

EDIT: It appears the WPATH folks have extended the period for public comments until January 16, 2022, via an e-mail message sent to the membership on December 16, the original date the public comment period was to close. However, Mr. Angel made his comments in a vacuum and didn't recant his previous thoughts until DECEMBER 16. As such, I stand by my original thought on what he did today via Tweet. While I don't expect him to say anything beyond what he said today, he'd do a lot to change my perception by going to every single forum where he fought against us and withdraw his previous statements/position in those places. It's one thing to say you were wrong (which he gets credit for), entirely another to clean up the mess he made.

Indeed. But you have to understand who we are dealing with. Buck is a professional contrarian on many trans issues. He describes himself as transsexual, rejects the label transgender, says nonbinary people are not trans, opposes gender services for young people, and much more. He is the trans man that trans activists love to hate, and is often interviewed by or with anti-trans activists. I have never seen him change his position like this. It is unprecedented. It is as if the pope suddenly changed his mind and said that maybe gay marriage makes sense after all. It does not undo all the bad stuff, but it is much more than I expected, and he has real influence.

I'll politely disagree and stand by my original statement. The damage has already been done. Recanting at the 11th hour is very much like asking for forgiveness for horrible deeds done when you're on your deathbed.

I want to thank those of you who made comments by the original deadline last night. A total of only 48 individuals commented on the eunuch chapter. Over 1200 people commented on at least one chapter of the draft Standards of Care with nearly 15,000 total comments! I have skimmed over the comments and, while there are certainly some very negative ones, the majority are quite positive, some suggesting minor tweaks to improve the draft. The general editors seem pleased with how positive the comments were on the eunuch chapter and have encouraged the committee to look at making some of the small changes that have been suggested.

Comments will remain open on the WPATH web site for a couple more weeks, but the editors have indicated that we will probably be able to pay much less attention to later ones. The early comments have set the tone for completing the final version.

Is there any way for those who missed out on the opportunity to read the draft and comment to at least see a copy of the draft? I felt that my situation does not fit at all well under SOC 7, and think it would be helpful if I could see if SOC 8 fits it better, and possibly see what I might want to emphasize or hold back on in my 1st appointment at the transgender center in a couple of weeks.

For now, just be patient. It will be out soon.
