Anyone know about Dr. Movagharnia in Atlanta doing castrations?

Post by Beekeeper (imported) »

Does anyone have any knowledge of Dr. Movagharnia in Atlanta? He works at the Center For Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery. He has said he will do my castration and remove my scrotum at the same time. He has said that he has done a lot of castrations over the years. His also does other plastic surgeries, he will do mine in the nearby medical center, so it should be safe. Because he does a lot of cosmetic surgeries I would think he would do good work. Would like to know if anyone has used him in the past.

I have seen postings that the surgery costs $8000. People have called and asked the price. He is expensive and uses an out patient surgery center. That adds a lot of the price.

The interesting thing is his website. He is not saying that he needs letters from a psychologist. If you can write him a letter convincing him that you are sincere about why you want to be castrated, he will do it.

The website also indicates that he wants to help men who don't want to have a high sex drive anymore.

He uses the words castrated, alternative male and neutered male. My doctor would never use the words orchiectomy or castration. He would only refer to it as a removal.

Privately (on a patient by patient basis) urologist will often agree to it without a letter, if you can convince them that your testicles are painful and if you are already on some hormone replacement.

Requirements

Before we can schedule your procedure, you need to write a letter to Dr. Movagharnia explaining why you are asking to have an orchiectomy. In that letter, you must to be honest and truthful and indicate the true reasons for such a request. Dr. Movagharnia needs to be convinced that your desire is sincere in order to perform your surgery. You must also write that you are aware and understand all the complications associated with the orchiectomy surgery including the risk of not having your testicles both in the short and long term. You must also understand and declare that you know this procedure is NOT reversible, and in order to replace the missing testosterone not available because or orchiectomy, you will need to be on hormonal replacement therapy.

Patients who would like to be castrated can contact my office at 770-951-7595 for more information and cost of the procedure.

We offer many other cosmetic body and facial feminizations procedures (please visit our other website at http://www.ccrsatlanta.com) that can be done in conjunction with orchiectomy or separately.

In this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81ODNtKbMwc , you can hear about his plastic surgery practice. Listening to him talk will give you an idea of what it would be like to meet him in person.

CFI10000, Thanks for your reply, I had already reviewed his website and sent him a letter requesting the surgery. He has approved the surgery and I am thinking of getting it done in January. He is expensive but I feel this is not the time to be penny wise and pound foolish. He seems to be very thorough and because he is a cosmetic surgeon he most likely will do good work. I am doing my due-diligence to see if anyone has had bad experiences with him.

I am somewhat concerned about getting my scrotum removed at the same time as the castration. His nurse has assured me he has done this many times and not to worry. I plan on following his post-op instructions to a T in hopes of avoiding any complications.

Yes, he is expensive, over double what you would pay elsewhere. If you wish to have the scrotum removed I suggest doing it at the same time as the orchi. A second surgery will probably double your cost. Just know that recovery from the orchi is short, while recovery from the scrotal removal can take much longer. I documents my recovery and complications from my scrotal excision on my blog.

Maybe I missed it, but I couldn’t tell if he castrates via scrotum incision or inguinally. I have some fear of dangling swollen cords being left behind. I have no interest in having the sac removed and prefer to keep it and would prefer not have it damaged.

That sounds like a good price. In the past, he mentions that he uses a surgery center. The surgery center I was required to use in Austin added $2700 to the bill. The anesthesia was $800 billed separately. Maybe for some patients he does not require general anesthesia or a surgery center. At least he accepts a credit card unlike Dr. Arnkoff.

He sounds a good choice to me. A bit more rigorous than others. I’d start my journey getting castrated by him.

I thought for a moment I’d post an encouraging line from a luminary about chasing dreams, but nothing comes to mind. From thinking about it for 10 plus years, till acting upon it a few weeks ago, it’s been a long haul. I sent an email to Dr Fara’s website about a week ago. Other than a canned reply of thanks for the email, I heard nothing till yesterday. The email I received indicated the Doctor had looked at my note and approved me for surgery, the email included a number of attachments for me to fill out. Guess nothing happens without copious paperwork.

Talk about a lump in my throat as this is becoming real. I called the office manger Judy, she was very pleasant and professional, she was prepared with answers for all my questions. The stated price is $4900 which covers the procedure, the surgical center and anesthesia. I’m figuring another $1500 for a plane ticket, hotel, food, etc. She mentioned she had a point of contact for a temporary healthcare giver for two days, no idea how much that will cost. A few medical tests(EKG, blood work) on my end have to be completed and that’s about it. Now I need to save save save. Guess I’ll be picking up additional shifts at work. Maybe summer of 2022.
