Glad to Hear lt went well. 3 years on from my procedure I've got to enjoy my lack of erections and dry orgasms.
Bladder leak wasn't much of an issue but is now nearly as good as it was before, however some gym work may release the odd small dribble ( I usually simply fold up a kitchen towel and stuff it down there just in case)
I believe you are trading 3 urinary sphincters for one ( counting the prostate as one of them) so its hardly surprising.
I am totally happy with my outcome and like you I am hoping that each subsequent PSA tests returns a neutral result.
Naturally there is a bit of dick shrinkage due to lack of function and in my case I have lost quite a bit of girth but this doesn't bother me.

Thanks a lot for that. In particular the feedback about the bladder control. That seems to be going way better than I was lead to believe, and so hearing that's not unheard-of is very helpful.
Too soon for me to know what the long-term effects on my sexual function will be, but I am happy regardless.

Re: Trying to get preventative prostate removal
Things are continuing to go very well.
I have had a few weeks since the operation (and since the catheter) and bladder control is back to normal. I literally couldn't pick the difference now compared to pre-op'. The physiotherapist and I discussed it and think that it's a combination of factors, such as pre-op' physio, being younger than most guys going through the same procedure, and most importantly not delaying the procedure to the last moment (plus not being a cancer-patient as well).
As well as that I am also wondering if my other muscles (involved in bladder control) have been easing into the role for years...I had a prostate biopsy a few years back, and I wonder if there has been some compensation going on since then. I did have some issues at the time.
I'm able to orgasm, if anything it's a bit easier and feels noticeably more pleasurable. Maybe that last part is psychosomatic? Again the physio was very pleased to hear there was no apparent nerve damage or loss of sensitivity.
As for erections, it's ambiguously good news. It's just shy of 4 weeks since the operation (and less since getting the catheter out) but my member can 'plump up' a bit. There's no rigidity to it, but then again it's not even a month since the operation and they were saying it'd be six to twelve months before I could expect to see any signs of improvement (or at least "wait that long before panicking", lol). So that much improvement so soon is a really good sign for long term recovery.
Plus the other unexpectedly good thing about this ordeal...was seeing it was an ordeal. This wasn't an easy in-and-out day surgery. The general anasthetic knocked me about for a day or two, and the week-and-a-day with the catheter sucked. I was still feeling fragile and moving awkwardly more than a week after getting the catheter out, and have only felt decently mobile again for the last week. So yes, the surgery was a big deal, plus it did take time to prepare for, and to recover from. "They told me so", it wasn't all smooth sailing, etc. On the other hand, getting it done sooner had a lot of benefits, and my recovery prospects are through the rooff compared to if I had delayed the procedure (as long as most guys do). But I do value that reminder that yes, surgery is always a big deal.
Having said all that, my profile picture is still quite apt. ^_^

I had prostate removed 3 years ago and am enjoying the dry orgasms.
I haven't had much in the way of erections since though.
But haven't suffered from too much in the way of bladder leak,
With the benefit of a few short weeks of hindsight, "me too and me too".
I'm not sure why, but the dry orgasms feel a bit better. Or I think they feel a bit better and it's all psychosomatic...but heck, whatever works works.
And no bladder leak issues. By the evening of the day the catheter was out it's like it was back to normal...I didn't expect that and am still finding it difficult to believe.
No telling yet how much erectile function will return, but there's already some good signs after just a few weeks. I'd be happy with it remaining just the way it is too, so it's a no-lose scenario here.
