It’s not even just how low it is but the speed of change and not the absolute value. Normally, some testosterone is changed by the body into estradiol and it is the estradiol that helps to prevent both hot flashes and osteoporosis.

Skipping the testosterone and using a small amount of TRANSDERMAL estradiol can help with both issues. Many prostate cancer patients who have been castrated either chemically or surgically now use low dose transdermal estradiol for those purposes. The amount you would want would be that which your body would need to produce from testosterone, so it should not cause any more feminization than you would get from the use of low dose testosterone that your body would then convert to the estradiol.

Is there any reason that you do not use low dose estradiol or that you have not considered using it? I would be interested in any reasons that you might have as it might help others with their decisions.

Thank you so much Jesus for the clarification!

I have judged the phenomenon of hotflashes based on my inner feelings. However, I intuitively tried to avoid taking hormonal drugs. I always tried to rely on the capabilities of my own body. I understand that not everyone will succeed in this. Probably not worth referring to my experience ...

Very good thread. 9 months since my orchiectomy and I get hot flashes quite often. Mine are usually pretty mild and go away quickly. If I can notice and get 90% of my body uncovered fast enough it barely lasts. I have been woken up a couple times as well with a drenched bed. I can't wait to try estrogen now to not have to go through the temperature sensitivity any more.

i’m wondering what hot flashes feel like. i’ve read the above and see there is much sweating if one has them at all, but i’ve had sweats from lots of spicy food so maybe I already have an idea. Just the same, they are called flashes, so i wonder where that comes from and what it feels like. like someone mentioned above my wife to the best of my knowledge never had flashes/sweats after menopause. so i guess not everyone who it may be expected would, does. i’ve kind of felt that i’ve damaged myself over years of self harm and that i may fluctuate in T levels. but i’ve had no flashes or sweats. still i see periodic physiological changes that make me wonder. i suppose i may find out better after surgery (of which, the ‘when’ is still not a certainty) but i always keep wondering. it seems to be viewed by everyone as an undesirable thing, yet i can’t help feeling as if i want it to happen - like i’d actually enjoy it. so my wonder continues. hoping someone can relate to this and provide some thoughts. thanks
