I need your help for an Androgel problem.
In view of my scheduled castration on August 11, I decided to test testosterone, not to give me libido, but to protect myself mainly from osteoporosis.
Before any treatment, my bioavailable testosterone level was 0.83 ng / ml.
I then tried Pantestone to see how it worked, and my level dropped after a month to 0.74 ng / ml.
And so to my surprise, and after taking Androgel 16.2, my testosterone dropped to 0.35 ng / ml level measured after 3 weeks of applying the gel.
We can observe that given my age, the range being 0.30 to 2.90 ng / ml, I am still within the standard, low of course, but within the standard.
I called a pharmacist at the laboratory that produces the Androgel to ask him if he had an explanation for this drop, while the Androgel is supposed to raise rather than descend, his conclusion is that not being castrated yet, there is interference between the testosterone produced by my testicles which I still have, and the Androgel.
For him when I am neutered, my level will drop to near zero, and the Androgel should play its role and raise my level of bioavailable testosterone.
What do you think of this story, do you have similar observations?
can we be sure that Androgel works for everyone? I'm not talking about its virilizing and active effect on libido, that's not my goal, but its ability to raise my T and protect me from feminization, and other side effects linked to castration.
Do you believe in the Pharmacist's hypothesis that my T will come back up after castration?
I remind you that what matters to me is protection against side effects including osteoporosis.
I imagine that some will answer me like my endrologist to go to the injections, I cannot nor want to go to the injections. I await your comments which I hope will cheer me up which is in the socks. I am very afraid that I will not have any possible T treatment for me.

If the testosterone doesn't work (like mine), use estrogen. It provides the same protection. At 2mg per day it is doing OK, and I am getting no feminization.

Re: I've a problem with Androgel
A possibility (I'm an anthropologist, not a physician) is that the exogenous testosterone is telling the pituitary gland that you have "enough" testosterone and it's then shutting down production of lutenizing hormone, which is what tells the testicles to produce it. If so, that would mean that the Androgel you're taking is your sole source of testosterone.

Re: I've a problem with Androgel
I have some serious doubt about what the pharmacist told you. I think I know what is going on. You have native testosterone from your still-attached testicles. I'm guessing that you are unusually sensitive to the gonadotropin-lowering effects of testosterone. So much so, in fact, that the small amount of added testosterone from AndroGel is causing your gonadotropin levels to plummet, even though the AndroGel is not sufficient to make up for the loss.
I don't know how he expects your testosterone to increase after castration on the same dose of AndroGel. While I presume that your hypothalamic-pituitary axis will recalibrate after a while, so what?!? Once you have been castrated, you won't have any testicles to react to gonadotropins, no matter their level.
I think that this is what you should do:
Relax. Don't worry. Have a nice glass of wine.
Find a good endocrinologist. It's probably best to do so before your castration.
Once you're a eunuch, let your endocrinologist guide you to an appropriate AndroGel dose.
Be patient! You will eventually find the right dose. I'm a big guy, so I required 4 pumps each morning, but that dose was adequate to give me the normal T levels I wanted.
Bon chance!

Thank you Kristoff
The solution that you precaunize is not the first that I would choose, however, thank you for bringing it up, and I keep it aside as a last resort if I ever manage to find a balance with the Androgel. It is good to know that there is a solution with estogens that meets my request, namely to provide protection agains

You are a reassuring person, and like Jesus you make a very relevant analysis.
What you are explaining seems to be something you experienced yourself.
Your dosage of Androgel at four pressures is double what I take, so it took in your case, and it may be the same for me, adapting the amount of T, either downwards or upwards, it is the analyzes that will tell.
To all :
Thank you for your very logical and motivating answers, which come from balanced people, who are not in the fantasy, but in the facts.
It is obvious that you yourself have been confronted with this type of problem, that you have succeeded in mastering it, and today you are sharing your experience with me.
No one responded in a fanciful way, just to pretend they had the truth.
I am very grateful to you for answering me, and your answers have given me a lot.
Thank you

Re: I've a problem with Androgel
Every 6 months I am tested for Testosterone.
The test results go up and down each time.
My doctor has no explanation.
Even though I use the same dose all the time, obviously other factors, other hormones are involved.
My research reveals that I am one of a minority of people who can not get erections when using the Testosterone Gel.
I chose to not use the injection testosterone, if i did, perhaps my test results would be more consistent and I might be able to get erections. I do not NEED to get an erection, but it would just be nice.
