Depo-Provera Trial Journal

Post by evening_dusk (imported) »

Hi all,

I just started 150mg DP last Thursday and am waiting for the effects to kick in. Waiting can be really tough! I've decided not I go with 300mg to start as I'm worried about longer lasting effects. Have taken the opportunity to try this out as I am currently in between jobs, starting my new place in June.

So far at Day 6, am still able to get hard quite easily. Seem to have a bit of lethargy and brain fog going on but not sure if it's just in my head.

Can't wait for the effects to kick in!

I tried it ages ago, Don't expect anything to happen dramatically but you should definitely start to feel the effects during your 2nd month.

The same happens for me when I stop taking my T shots, OK i feel a bit apprehensive but nothing noticeable until the 2nd month.

Well I'm at Day 7 but still getting my morning woods. Am hoping to reach a point in the next week where morning woods are non-existent and getting hard would be a big challenge. Based on what I read in this forum the effects seem to kick in two or three weeks after the dose.

Did you also try just a 150mg shot only ambiguous?

you aren’t going to get much effect if you start with 150mg. If you really want to feel castrated, take 300mg then 150mg every 3 weeks.

Hi JessicaH, thanks for sharing. Yes I did read that the recommended dose is to start with 300mg but I was worried about the effects when it all kicks in at once - bearing in mind my peeling reactions from spironolactone thrice and the sudden energy loss when on Androcur. I did read that some other members had experienced some effects and was hoping that it could be the same for me. Of course, as many would say, everyone is different so I can only hope.

150mg will make a difference but not in 6 days. It'll be three weeks or so before you start seeing a difference such as not getting morning wood. I've taken various doses over the years and even 600mg will not have an instant reaction but also won't cause an energy loss. That's the beauty of DP; it really does work on the libido and erections but isn't debilitating unlike Androcur.

Yeah I guess it's about being more patient about it. Not sure if it's just in my head but I seemed to have noticed softer morning wood when I woke up this morning...

Was there any difference in energy loss felt when you went up to 600mg HumanFly?

Not as I recall. I don't think I've ever had significant energy loss on DP.

Thanks HumanFly, somehow I'm experiencing a bit of that so I'm monitoring at the moment.

12 days in, getting and maintaining an erection is much harder but still possible. Cum seems much lesser in volume and less sticky of sorts? Morning wood is even softer but there is still some element of that.

22 days in and my balls seem to have shrunk about 1/3 in volume. Also, they don't descend as low as before no matter the time of day.

Morning woods are about the same as last updated though, hoping to see full softness but it's still semi hard in the morning.

Much more effort than usual is needed to get hard and stay hard, and at times it feels like it's not worth it at all for the effort.
