Recent trouble loading forums

For the last couple months or so I've had intermittent trouble getting into the forums. I have no trouble with the landing page or the story archives, but sometimes when I click on the link to go to the forums my browser just times out and I have to try again sometime later. Anyone else seeing this?

There is a known issue with the VB database. Well, we know there's an issue. We just can't figure out what it is, or how to fix it!

The problem exists. I always believed that it is connected with my location (the province of Russia, the city of Novosibirsk). But generally everything functions normally. For God's sake change nothing, please! There is a saying: "Best the enemy of the good".

Nice to know it’s not me. Generally this problem is around 5:30-6:00 am central time just as I’m connecting online

I have the same issue and figured it was just too many people on the forum at one time.

Unfortunately, it happens all hours of the day and night. I am wondering if we are the subject of a denial of service attack. Or perhaps the people at the server are throttling us because of high volume of hits. We have to find out somehow, or get another server.

I had noticed it as well. I could always get to eunuch.org, but not always to the forums. Once I get in, it seems to work fine, it is just the first time navigating to the site for the day.

Never observed refusal in service. Just some delay. A large number of addresses speaks about high popularity of the website.
