There's not much in it about castration.

Here's one paragraph:

Castration.—This operation consists in the removal of the testes of the male. It does not at once obliterate the sexual sense, especially if performed after puberty, but of course renders the individual impotent, or incapable of reproduction. Persons upon whom it has been performed are called eunuchs. It was a very common custom in ancient times, being usually prompted by the jealousy of rulers, who allowed no males but eunuchs to associate with their wives and concubines. The effect upon the male is to render him effeminate in appearance and weak in mind. If performed before puberty, the growth of the beard is scanty, and the voice never acquires that deepness of tone natural to the masculine voice.

I don't want to include a link as I don't want to violate the rules of the site. However I happened across a website for a clinic in Canada that some of you many have discovered already. Amongst other things it encourages parents to have their young sons circumcised. They boast of the beauty and superior aesthetics of their procedure. This is for real by the way. To prove the point they have an expertly filmed high definition propaganda video of the circumcision of a ten year old boy.

I guess it's covered under "educational" use but I'm amazed that such a thing is legal. Weird stuff!

There are videos of the procedure all over YouTube from different countries. Literally thousands of them. In many cultures, it's a really big deal and quite the party. Really all you have to look up is "circumcision clamp" or something similar, and YT will start throwing these videos at you in suggestions.

I'm surprised they'd have something like that in London since the Brits aren't really into genital mods and particularly not for their kids. The boy in the video I was talking about was super brave, I'd freak out if anyone held a knife that close to my balls!

If you dare look for Pollock Clinics and the "Child Circumcision Video." But be forewarned! After viewing you might want to grab the first 10 year old who happens along and drive him to the clinic to be cut!

I’ve seen some of those videos and as odd as this might sound I can’t help but be intensely jealous of the boys in them. As you may know I was cir’ed as a baby and so (unlike Ray Bradbury) I have no memory of having my penis trimmed. I really wish my dad had held off and waited until I was 11 or 12. At that age my interest in castration was at its peak and I could’ve experienced all the emotions of being castrated without having lost anything other than my foreskin and some degree of penile sensitivity.

I know this would’ve made me a much better writer and have given me more life experience to draw upon for my stories in the EA. Going though all the motions of castration without actually being castrated would’ve been the best. It would’ve been a sort of virtual castration as a grade schooler. Near enough to the actual thing to really understand it.

I have no idea if I’d have gone willingly or if I’d have fought it every step of the way. I suspect if I was being filmed for posterity I’d have tried to be brave. It must be amazing for the boys who were filmed to then watch their own procedure on YouTube and know that thousands of others are watching as well. Some day, as adults, they can show their own young sons their procedure to help their boys overcome their own pre circumcision anxiety.

There is nothing as powerful as leadership by example and doing it yourself to convince others to follow you. The males filmed in these male surgeries are very bravely and openly doing countless other males a huge favor in easing other males fears and answering their questions. Most uncut males never choose to get cut. And males cut as infants want to see what was done to their missing foreskins at all ages later in life.

Look for the part that says "Child Circumcision Video."

I've corresponded with a man who was cir'ed at age 11. At the time his dad joked that if he kicked up too much of a fuss he'd tell the doctor to "cut it all off." This was meant to be funny but the boy didn't know that as the time. He thought there was an actual possibility that he could be nullified. Once the operation was over the boy was relived but also a bit let down. A part of him actually wanted to be castrated.

It just goes to show how confused boys can be. Here's a video of a boy who thinks that if he was cir'ed he'd never be a "real man." He also says that he'd have it done but only if the doctor would reattach it later. Sort of a mixed up kid.
