Multiple Universes

Post by Arab Nights (imported) »

fhunter, in a separate thread you wrote - There are definitely multiple universes there. I do not want to hijack a thread, so I will start a new one. Always interested in what you have to say. Could you give a brief (!) overview and evidence. That is probably like asking for a brief overview of human history and life, so I know you can do it. Thanks.

First of all - I am sorry for answering a bit late.

My reference to multiple universes was more in line with fiction. I was referring to Heinlein's "World as a myth" concept (and probably other writers did that too, but I first read in from Heinlein). Or, if we take stories - some of them probably have 'incompatible' timelines (well, no one really checked that, but I assume that different in-story universes can be incompatible. Did someone investigate the stories (more coherent ones) and check how many timelines are required for them?

So - mostly I was referring to fiction. Can't say anything about humanity and life. Given recent history/events - I do not have high hopes on humanity anyway (but that is dangerously bordering with politics).
