I was taking it, it´s a diuretic with weak antiandrogenic activity and as monotherapy doesnt lower efectively testosterone, I was taking it in combination with estrogen and helps a bit with facial hair but after at least one year of steady intake

Hi Frida. Thanks for the info. I just started taking it because the side effects of androcur were just not livable with. It's certainly not like taking androcur, doesn't seem as harsh.

I took Spirolactone for about six months before switching to Cyproterone (aka Androcur). I found Spirolactone to be marginally effective. Androcur, on the other hand is very effective- It can bring T levels down to castrate levels within a couple weeks of starting on it. I stuck with Androcur until I had my Orchiectomy. Now, I’m liberated altogether from the poisonous T.

I take Spironolactone as part of my daily group of pills. I am a Diabetic and have already lost a leg to it. Turns out I retain fluid, too, so I am on this for it's diuretic properties and Furosimide which is Just a Diuretic to help pee my retained fluid away.

I was on Furosimide as an IV when last in the hospital with a Catheter and lost 110 pounds by it. so yeah, I am on it, and I am able to sleep because of it. its the only thing really effective against Congestive Heart Failure.

Eunuchorn3, I can only wish you the best with your health issues.

My Dr. checked on me yesterday, a week after starting spironolactone. The only thing I noticed was that I have slept better. I told her I am feeling happier, but probably just because I am seeing her and not self medicating. Spironolactone definitely does not feel as harsh as androcur.

I have of late been reading that Estrogen alone, particularly by injection is far better than taking Spiro. Search MTF transhormonal therapy. My concern about Spiro is the effect of visceral fat. I have discontinued spiro after reading this article.

Your advise is welcomed. I am looking to greatly reduce my libido, also reduce penis and testicle size. After a discussion with my GP, he put me on Spiro. I am on my third month of a gradual dosage increase, 1st month 25mg, 2nd month 50mg, and this wee he increased me to 100mg. For my goal of reducing libido as well as genital size, is Spiro effective or am I waiting my time. I'm not necessarily looking for feminization, but if it happens, it happens. I have considered castration, but not an easy process to make that happen.

Thanks for any thoughts you might have.
