Where does one get testosterone online either gel or shot? Wanting to find some to stop the night sweats and hot flashes. You can find female hormones and all the supplies to reduce testosterone but not to replace it.
Thanks for the info

Hey ScubaSteve,
For a man in the US to get testosterone gel is pretty easy. Most doctors will prescribe it if your T levels are either below normal or very low in the normal range.
More good news if you hate needles is that AndroGel is now available in generic pumps. The least expensive manufacture seems to change from month to month. My prescription drug plan only covers the generic. However, even without a prescription plan you can use something like GoodRx and check for good prices near you. If for whatever reason, you can't find the rub on gel, then most people do a nurse appointment every two weeks for an injection in the big muscle of the butt.
If I were not using the gel, my doctor would charge $40 per injection. One bottle has 60 pumps in it - the normal dose is 2 pumps rubbed on the shoulders per day. So, one bottle = one month at the usual prescription. GoodRx has a coupon in my area for Walgreens at $126 for three bottles. That makes the gel less expensive than the injections (two injections a month is $80 a month - which would b $160 for three months).
I would recommend trying your doctor.

This is great info to know. I am using injections in the leg 2x weekly and every time it leave me with a sore leg for 2 days. I hate it and have been challenged finding a doctor that likes the gel. However, this helps with my argument!

Re: Testosterone
At the time I was on AndroGel, there was not a generic version. When Androgel makers raised their price, my insurance asked me to change to Fortesta which is the generic available. Insurance is only charged a little over 60.00 and my copay is now 10.00. Each pump has 120 10mg doses. Since I am prescribed 20mg daily, that gives me a 2 monty supply for the price. When I cut down, to 10 mg, I can get up to four months. I can always use the 20 mg if I feel tired.

Are you self injecting New2This? My Dr. instructed me how to inject, so I do my own weekly injections and no trips to dr. office for them. You will also find that once you build up some scar tissue the muscle soreness will stop. I've learned to do it very well, nearly always pain free and no muscle soreness after first few months. I inject in my quads, alternating sides. There are some how to videos on YouTube as well. You can go slow, no need to jab it in.
Also, the injection is supposed to be faster for raising blood level testosterone and more efficient. For me it is about $100 per month, with self injection.

Since I started doing my own injections a few years back, my doctor has me doing my injections subcutaneously (25ga 5/8 in needle into the abdomen) rather than intramuscular. Much less trauma to the muscles, and apparently no difference in efficacy.

They did show me, but I still have challenges with it.
@TooMuchT - good to know, I can ask about that.

Re: Testosterone
I had to go on T to lose weight and correct type 2 diabetes and it totally worked. Not happy about side effects but better than feeling like a fat bag of crap. T is a controlled substance so either pay high price to get illegally or go to doc and get prescription. T ciprionate 200mg/ml, (10ml) is under $50 at Walmart or Sams Club (check Goodrich.com ALWAYS for best med prices). You can do 2x a week or once weekly if given in the upper buttock. The pharmacological profile for T is different if given in the leg so just do it properly in the buttock or 2x per week subcutaneously in the belly fat.
I do 1cc of 200mg/ml once a week and have no issues that aren’t expected. If having issues with your doc, look for an anti aging clinic and they will prescribe levels much higher than a family practice Dr will. I’m keeping my levels between q100-1200 for now.

Re: Testosterone
When I still was taking testosterone I used the injectable because it was relatively inexpensive.
I took one ml, every ten days .
