I'm one of the long term members, joining when the Eunuch Archive started way back when. My user registration number is only 3 digits long, while newer members are 6 digits. I can remember coming on when I was in my late 20's back around 1997-98, and I'm nearly 50 now. Before that we had the usenet groups, which I frequented since I was 24. So overall, I started interacting with the online eunuch community in the mid-1990's, long before Katie Couric made her somewhat famous comment on the Today Show, asking her producer, "What is Internet?"

I can clearly remember the first time I encountered a photo of a castrated man online, sometime around 1995. It was the first time I spontaneously ejaculated looking at a mere photo. Why? I found it extremely hot and, 2. it looked like what I felt was the right thing for me.

As a gay male, I found nothing hotter than to finally find a photo of a man who was like I wanted to be. I still have that photo on my computer... somewhere. Then came the first time I encountered a photo of a nullo... yet another spontaneous sexual event. He was the more famous then than now, NulloTom. Nobody has heard from him in years, perhaps he's passed on. My younger nullo friend (age 33 and nullified 4 years ago) found photos of NulloTom online when he was 14. He felt different than other boys and after seeing that photo had an overwhelming feeling of that is what would be right for him. He had finally encountered "correctness" in how his body was meant to be. He pursued it for 15 years until he finally achieved his goal and is happier now than he's ever been. Finding NulloTom online was a significant event in his coming of age.

I've been in the online eunuch world longer as a eunuch than I was as an intact man. I was here around 11 years intact, and now it's nearly 15 years as a eunuch, and just over 5 as a nullo.

I suppose some consider me the eunuchworld curmudgeon, and despite mellowing out A LOT since I was nullified, others still speak negatively of me on other sites despite that mellowing out as of late. It's quite frustrating. Guess I'll have to bear that cross forever. 🤷

The reason I stick around is to help folks who are just getting here and starting to navigate their reality and thinking they're the only guy out there who wants to remove his male parts and remain otherwise male. It's a lonely existence, I know from experience. There is a TON of inaccurate information floating around about what it is like to be a eunuch and/or nullo. Folks who have had these surgeries in reality are the fount of knowledge which Kristoff mentioned counteracting the inaccurate information people learn on the street.

What I can tell you is in 1994 this community, at least to the medical world, was operating as an underground institution, with most men who got something done to their bodies, having their various genital flesh removals done by people who were not classically trained in the medical arts (Read: People who are not medical doctors). We've gone from that environment in the 1990's, of desire for a life without testicles and/or penis, and having to resort to those underground people doing it for us, to 2020 where we have a choice of doctors who can do this for us, legitimately and above board. Granted, it's a small group of doctors who will help us, but it's a virtual stadium full of them compared to where we were 25 years ago.

Sadly, we still do not have a standards of care to help men like us navigate to a successful and healthy outcome, but at least we're no longer regarded as crazy by the medical community, so that's progress.

I'm curious about these other sites you mention. Can you point me to them?

The other sites have more verified eunuchs participating and seemly younger eunuchs. I guess aside from that on the other no one attempts to speak for all eunuchs and straight jacket the conversation into their own concepts. That site is by invitation, if I understand correctly

I've been relatively inactive for months but still visit occasionally. I haven't had much time lately and haven't even updated my blog. Life sometimes gets in the way and just because I'm a Eunuch doesn't mean I free of all the daily hassles that leave you exhausted by days end and just wanting a still drink, mindless TV and sleep.

I intend to stay here. I have only experienced the eunuch calm erratically since my op due to being on TRT for a long time (I'm not now, but I'm trying to get back onto it). Eunuch related stuff is a bit of an interest of mine now, this site provides that.
