If this kid had his ding-a-ling removed he wouldn't be in the fix he's in now.

Wow, Spade is fearless. That's some high-risk, high-reward comedy gold right there. He gets a ton of crap for being a hack, but if you get into his story and the awesome quality of some of his work, you see the flashes of brilliance.*

That said, the kid actually does have a very high voice for his age... ?!**

* Tommy boy and other movies with Chris Farley are an example. Do the movies have a lot of ridiculous, obvious, too-easy, manufactured jokes? Yes. To the point they almost can ruin the films. But the interaction of the two of them? The adlibbed portions? The timing and the well-written bits? Fucking pure gold. Even that one New York Times critic who panned the films admitted that Spade, especially when with Farley, has a deadpan style that the critic rated all-time-great level.

** I've always liked the idea of a story dealing more directly with the idea of a parallel-universe-type near-earth where Hollywood routinely castrates, to varying degrees, child actors. It'd start out as an idea, then a rarity, then 'the thing to do' with male actors who want girl rolls, until it snowballs to where boys entrap themselves on purpose into situations where it will happen to them. Some out of greed, some as a dare, some to please parents. It's been touched on before but I've not seen it as the central theme.

Now that's an idea. An aspiring young boy actor comes to Hollywood with his family. He soon discovers that to be cast in staring roles he must give up parts of his anatomy. Perhaps he attends a party for inquiring but reluctant boys such as himself. There he is "kidnapped" to be altered. It could work.
