A question regarding Cimetidine

Post by Jerrbear (imported) »

Hey Everyone, Here's a question. I have tried Cimetidine in the past--1000mg daily. Well, I wasn't getting anything from it. It seemed like it caused me to get more easily aroused.

Last night, I decided to give it another try after not using it for about a month. But I increased the dosage to 1000mg before bed and 1000mg in the morning.

Well, here's the thing--about an hour after taking the morning, I noticed that things have "calmed down". Normally, I am semi-aroused most of the day. To the point that I am locked in a chastity cage to control my urges to constantly masturbate. Being "semi-aroused" most of the time made wearing the cage a challenge as I am always pushing against it and trying to adjust it.

How I know that the meds seem to have kicked in is that I am no longer pushing against the cage and I don't feel like it's trying to rip my balls off. (In some cases, isn't that the goal for some of us? LOL)

So...question...since I have increased to 2000mg daily of Cimetidine, I seem to have no urge to try to take the cage off or to masturbate. Is this placebo affect or does the meds actually work that quickly at that high of a dose?

I will continue this regime for about the next month or so and will update, but your input would be great.

Anything over 1,600mg could cause problems with liver function.

The Over the Counter Dose of Tagamet (Cimetidine) is 200mg and is recommended to be taken once or twice per day. It is an H2 Histamine blocker that decreases the amount of acid in the stomach. Prescription-strength varies depending on the condition but, seems to max out at about 300 mg three times per day. Again, it is prescribed to reduce acid in the stomach.

I looked up sexual side effects and anti-androgen side effects of Cimetidine and it depends on where you get your information. Either it is "very rare" or "highly effective".

It seems that if you are buying it for its ability to help with too much stomach acid, then sexual side effects are "very rare".

However, when used to eliminate unwanted sexual behavior (such as in nursing home males with dementia) it is "highly effective".

Part of that might dose-related. For stomach acid, the dose might be a little as 200mg as needed. Unlike Prilosec which must be taken on an empty stomach about one hour before a meal, Cimetidine can be taken before, during or after a meal. Therefore the smallest possible does is likely to work.

As an anti-androgen, it might be dosed higher and spread out through the day.

since I want the remains of my gear gone, I figured why not try it? I took 1,000mg per day at bedtime, every day for 6 weeks. Reduced my limited ability to gain and maintain an erection at will. A friend who used to spy on me in the showers at the gym said it looked a bit smaller, but not much. When I stopped the cimetidine I still had the normal difficulty to gain an erection, at which time I used a tape measure and got 7.5 inches, same as usual.

Bottom line, at least for me, it didn't make anything smaller.

Right now, I'm not looking at getting smaller...I don't have much to begin with. I just need to control the erections and masturbation. I just need it all to stop. So if the Cimetidine will help with that and it's still available OTC, then I'll give it a try. Normally, when I am not taking anything, I am in a constant state of "semi-arousal" and it get painful and distracting. I am trying a chastity cage for long-term to contain myself and I need the erections to just plain stop. With today's environment, making appointments to get snipped is proving to be difficult...so...I need to find something in the mean-time.

I tried Cimetidine and got digestive problems. For a similar, and maybe safer effect, to elevate prolactin, I have better experience with motilium. However, that is not available OTC in the US.

Maybe you should ask your doctor for dutusteride. It’s a very effective DHT blocker and that often has effect of lowering libido and erections as well as shrinking your prostate.

Has anyone tried Tagamet for penis shrinkage after having had a bilateral orchiectomy? I’m seven months post op, happy with the results/progress thus far. However, I would like to see my penis shrink down to clit size.

Any advice/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
