Refusal of registration

I have previously been a member but lapsed for non use. I have tried to reregister 3 times and got to the subject to the moderator stage then nothing. No acceptance, no refusal, just silence. So far as I am aware I have not committed any of the things which would lead to a ban. Would it help to use a new user name?

Certain elements of VB use the name string "poobah", as I recall from setting it up. It may be that the system is rejecting that name based on this fact.

I tend to check registrations several times per day. I don't check at night. So the answer would be a few hours most often.
