Needing advice

I was told by the endocrinology department that I would be able to get T prescribed to me by my GP because I had had it before (t-injections at a hospital, prescribed from the endocrinologist).

When I talked to the GP on the phone she said we can't prescribe it, and that I'd have to wait until the end of the month when I see the endocrinologist. I said about what the endo department said, and she shrugged it off. I asked her for something to help with my mood because I have badly deteriorated in the last few weeks, she said she can't until the endo has seen me. I told her that the concept of suicide was going through my mind. She said maybe he'll get in touch between now and then.

It is still another week until I see the endo. To others here in the UK that have been prescribed T (topical), how long after seeing the endo did you get your hands on the T? I am not sure how much more I can take of this. Should I buy some online?

Had I known it would have took this long, I would have bought some T online weeks ago.

It sounds like it is time for you to find a new GP dr who cares about you. Your current one does not seem to care about you. Quoting rules and unwillingness to call your endocrine dr seem to be her only interest.

I'll try with another GP, but the system is all messed up at the moment because of the lockdown.

My appointment with the endo next week has been cancelled because of the coronavirus. I've left a voicemail with the Dr's secretary. Ill try again tomorrow.

Can they do video visits online using zoom and similar audio/ video internet virtual visits. Other life saving prescriptions are still being provided by drs during the lockdown.

Please, do not hurt yourself. Your GP should lose her license for not having taken your statement about suicide more seriously. Call the suicide hotline if you have to. Go to the emergency room if you feel the urge to hurt yourself again.

Lack of testosterone is well known to cause depression. For your GP to not draw blood, see your levels, and give your androgel is malpractice. How could she not see that there is a direct link between your need for testosterone and your suicidal thoughts? For that alone, you should report her.

One more time, if you start to seriously think about suicide, get to the emergency department or phone the suicide hotline.

As someone who has battled depression for most of my adult life I have to agree with TopMan. There are better days ahead. I'm glad I didn't go through with it. In the long term you will be too. Seek the help that you need.
