5 Years a Eunuch

Post by Qunuch81 (imported) »

5 years ago today I walked out of Dr. Arnkoff's office a couple ounces lighter. Would I do it again? Maybe. Depends on the day and my mood. Today anyways I feel like celebrating, so happy eunuchversary to me!

I'm interested to hear why you say "maybe".

I think a lot of it's a matter of timing. After I was castrated I went through a very difficult, emotionally turbulent period in my life during which I needed to work through a lot of childhood trauma. A lot of that trauma is around masculinity. Unfortunately, that created associations between being a eunuch and being in emotional pain, feeling insecure about my manhood (I still identify as male), etc. So now, 5 years later, I've still got hang-ups. Still, if I hadn't gone to Arnkoff in 2015 I probably would've in 2016.

Ah, I understand now. Thanks for the clarification. I hope you're doing better.

congrats on accomplishing your desire 5 years ago. Sometimes we need to just remember that we are who we are. Personally I never considered myself to be male nor female. I am me and getting cut finally helped me to confirm to myself that I was neither male or female and perhaps both. How we identify ourselves is very personal and we should feel comfortable in whatever it is. So often any insecurities of how we identify are brought on by social interactions with society. I live for my own health and well being. So to me what society thinks doesn't come into play unless it effects my freedom. As my body changed society's view of me caused me to change my credentials in order to preserve my freedom to travel without problems of bigotry but that didn't change how I identified myself. Which is neither male nor female. I am physically male while society sees what they want to see. I am comfortable with simply being me.

Happy Eunuchversary too, from another Arnkoff alumnus. Mine was just a bit over a year ago, and every day I am pleased yet again. I am very pleased to be castrated, and on estradiol for sex hormone replacement therapy. I am happier than I've been in many years!
