I do remember it was too difficult to find a place to stay last time I tried. The hotels, air B&B and camp sites were all full that weekend.

It was perhaps one of the state fair weekends. Literally millions descend on the area on both weekends, and take every room available. This is not such a weekend. State Fair is last week of August.

That would explain it then! I haven't looked for a B&B, perhaps I will. Still trying to figure out logistics for that weekend, but going to try again.

The Senior Officers of the Mothership already know this, but for everyone else - after much soul-searching and personal debate, I will not be attending this year's MOM.
There are factors other than the COVID-19 virus, but this is the main one.
