Experiences on Cimetidine (Tagamet?)

Has anyone here had experience with Tagamet? What are the doses you'd recommend? How effective is it, and did you have any negative side effects related to the drug itself? The typical tablet seems to be 200mg, and the dose recommendations I've seen for T lowering are 1000mg+, so I was wondering if that large dose came with risks of its own. Thanks!
