The CDC is now offering guidelines on how to create your own mask.
Step 1. Dig to the bottom of your underwear draw.
Step 2. Find an old jockstrap*.
Step 3. Put it on your head with the straps in the back and the pouch in front.
Step 4. Use two bag clips to adjust the waistband around your neck and the other one to hold the straps together.
Step 5. You'll never have to worry about people staying 6 feet away from you.
* If you don't have an old jockstrap, @rogwpbfl has dozens of swimmer's jocks. they work great because they have a much smaller waistband.

Ha. I will think of a great comment about Roger - tomorrow.
I have really mixed feeling about all these masks. Because of my work which can be around horribly dusty drill rigs, crushers, etc. and especially after about the 1980s I have often had dust protection available. To protect against dust you CANNOT have a beard. The mask has too fit really tightly around all parts of your nose, cheeks and throat. If there is the slightest gap, air movement goes thru there because it is an easier pathway than thru the mask. Air movement carries dust and, I am sure, virus particles.
I look at the masks people have and by those criteria the masks most people have don't cut it.
I could buy that the masks would help lessen your effect on the immediate environment if you sneeze or cough.
Personally, the big changes I am making is gargling salt water, rinsing my eyes out with eye rinse with a plastic eye cup, rinsing out my sinuses and washing hands a couple of times a day. With luck I will get exposed to only 100 virus particles or some number my body can handle and develop and immunity before the vaccine come out.

Have not seen jock straps demonstrated on T.V. but I have seen
cut a bra in half and create two masks.

I have seen someone wear a pair of paneities over their heads on the web.
The holes for the legs are for your eyes of course.
Another good way to ensure social distancing .

I'll take a pass on the jockstrap, and I'll just ask Roger if he'd take on the role of mask for me instead.
*drools*
Ok, kidding aside. Stay safe everyone.
