Single use bottles?

Post by Wolf-Pup (imported) »

I take Testosterone Cypionate 80 mg, which is .4 mL, intramuscularly every week. My last prescription they gave me a bunch of tiny bottles instead of the one 2000 mg/10 mL bottle. The small bottles say they are single use, but I should be able to get two doses out of them since they are 1 mL bottles.

Can I use them twice safely? I'm not sure there is a reason why I couldn't other than they are labeled as single use. Also I didn't get 12 little bottles so it seems implied I can use them more than once.

Just figured I'd ask here since I figure the pharmacy is probably a bit overwhelmed and there are some experts on here.

Thanks

I believe that some vaccines come in multiple-use bottles and contain preservatives. The same vaccine comes in a single-use bottle or syringe that does not contain the preservatives.

The logic is that even though the top is wiped off each time with an alcohol wipe, bacteria could be introduced to the multiple-use bottle each time a needle is put into it.

Does your larger bottle contain a presentation agent?

Sorry a preservation agent not a "presentation" agent.

Some Vials are charged with Nitrogen and not air.

This is done to stop the testosterone cypionate crystallising.

Some esters used are more susceptible than others to this.

I would go with what the doc has advised as a result.

I have no idea if the contents outside of the T are any different. Last time I used the little bottles just once per injection, but had a bigger bottle in reserve. I'll check with the pharmacy before my next injection.

Thanks
