This week's Family Guy, castration theme

Post by jamiepan (imported) »

The main story in the las episode has Brian (the anthropomorphic family dog) being convinced to have himself neutered by a successful former friend.

I won't spoil the plot, but I will say that the episode actually hits what may be some hot buttons for readers of stories here.

Think of all the discussions of castrating that this show will inspire. This is how the forbidden becomes accepted as normal. Or at least as being not so unspeaksbly forbidden.

Neutering a dog who acts like a man is one way to get past the censors. Everyone is already accepting of empty dog scrotums parading in public as a good way to limit unwanted puppies. Parents don t mind explaining this to kids watching TV. Put a man on that table for castrating and losing one ball and the censors would go nuts about it.

Lots of great lines probably taken off this forum by the writers.

Worth it for the line, "Um. Could you think of your scrotum as half full?"
