The method that I chose was to be chemically castrated for a year. Take castration on a test drive see how I liked it. I did.

I then went to Philly to see Dr Kimmel and was castrated and scrotum reduction. If I had to do it again I would have only had the castration. Then at a later time go back and have the scrotum removed. I think it was too much shock to my system to have it all removed at once.

Unlike other surgery’s, which I have had a couple. Castration is very evasive and your system will highly object to them being removed. Even being chemically castrated for a year did not help. Your testosterone level does not seem to make a difference, as mine at time of castration was 35, now it does not even register.

Would I do it again, YES but I would do it in two stages.

I was fortunate enough to have decided on a two stage removal, due to shortage of money. So I was castrated by Dr. Spector on 14 May 2001, and had the scrotum removed by Dr. Kimmel on 18 January 2002. Now settled in nicely.

The last I heard Dr Kimmel charged $1,500 for sctrotum removal, Andrew or Riverwind may confirm this. Your best bet would be to call the doctors office to confirm his price.
