Polish Sausage? German? or Mexican sausage?

Well, it's been a while since I risked offending someone... I think.

I am overdue:

A guy went into a store and told the clerk, "I'd like some Polish

sausage."

The clerk looked at him and said, "Are you Polish?"

The guy replied, "Well, yes I am. If I had asked for German sausage,

would you have asked me if I was German? Or if I had asked for a taco,

would you ask if I was Mexican?"

The clerk said, "Well, no."

The customer then said, "Well, why did you ask me if I'm Polish because

I ask for Polish sausage????"

The clerk said, "Because this is a hardware store."
