Effexor killed my libido

I'm on effexor 450 mg a day and it's killed my sex drive completely I can cum but feel nothing physically or mentally no enjoyment at all. I'm castrated and am on HRT so there are other ways to kill your sex drive other then castration. Has anyone else experience this.

I had libido but couldn't come. I gave up the effexor.

Effexor is an SSRI Antidepressant. SSRI medication is well known for causing an inability to cum.

Effexor (venlafaxine) is an SNRI in that it also increases norepinephrine at the nerve junctions. The norepi boosts the antidepressant function.

Both SSRI & SNRI can cause problems with libido. When that happened to me, I developed anhedonic orgasms (cumming w/o pleasure) I just added some wellbutrin (a DNRI) to compliment the SNRI. The "D" is for "Dopamine," the "happiness hormone." I swear that if I had known what its effect on my orgasms would be, I would have started it before I had clinical depression. Whooo-dee-doo!!! Orgasms come in waves that last far longer than any I'd ever had! YMMV. "Consult your physician to see if Wellbutrin is right for you."

I tried Effexor once and broke out in hives for a week. It was HORRIBLE!

They just started me on Wellbutrin the other day and yesterday I had severe muscle pain and didn't take it last night but im going to give it another try and took it this morning and will see if the muscle pain comes back.
