If I remember correctly, these motorcycles have a single axle rear that powers the cycles rear wheel and also the sidecar's wheel. not common.

Not single axle - it has a driveshaft going to the sidecar wheel. (Actually it was surprisingly hard to find this picture). And this is an option, or at least it was in soviet time, because the ones I have seen personally - had only one powered wheel.

Then again, there's always the outside chance that the neighbor might have a grandchild get loose and go heading down the road to the river and have to be rescued. Yes, that happened once.
