I too am quite pleased that I can get this done locally! Funny, just a few years ago, it seems there was only one option, to travel to MI. Now, there are providers all over the place who will to MtoE with only a single letter, and it appears that getting a letter is not very difficult.

My consult is August 2nd. I have already contacted a person who will do a remote interview. That should happen next week. I think, if all goes well, I should have letter in hand well before my consult. Assuming you had your letter in hand, any idea how far out they are scheduling for actual surgery after the consult?

I am so ready to get this done. As I type this, I have to move my Macbook out of the way so I can rearrange my itchy balls.... Minor irritant, yes, in the grand scheme of things, but will be nice not do have to do that anymore!

I had my interview yesterday. It went extremely well. We have a call tomorrow to go over the letter, then he will send it to the surgeon. Super easy! I actually was happy to talk to someone else about this besides my wife. I think it was a good process to go through.

You might not have any balls anymore but the sack still gets itchy.

Its got to be good when your sak shrinks and is comfy. mine was a itchy 6" flap, drove me 'nuts'? Dumb thing I did was cut it off myself. The doctors wouldn't. Even with the big scar, I'm way more comfortable without it. I like the look of it too. Each to their own. Thats why we are here

I never have had itchy balls. Always have worn snug tighty whitys. I wore boxers for a while, but my balls would stick to my thighs, very uncomfortable.

cw1911nr, congrats on pursuing your goal!

I know you've already decided which doctor to go with, but for anybody else considering Arnkoff, it cost me $3000 for orchie in 2015 and he wanted $2000 more for the scrotum removal! Ridiculous. I just had the orchie. As many have said, he's good at that and great about follow-up. Based on what I've been hearing from others, I'm glad I didn't have him do the scrotum.

Absolute fraud what doctors will have for this little surgery.

A vasectomy is really nearly the same expenditure and cost only around 400€.

€.

Since you are listing the price in Euros, I'm going to assume you are across the pond from us and this answer might not make much sense, but it does to the Doctors in this country.

Can you say "Lawyers"? Can you say "Medical Malpractice Lawsuit"?

Medical malpractice insurance for Doctors over here can get really spendy depending on your specialty. For instance, it's pretty damn hard for women to find a new gynecologist because the amount of money those baby Doc's pay is absolutely outrageous, so not a lot of new Doc's opt to go into the field and lots of them have just retired rather than pay those prices. So.... While an Orchiectomy is not a lot different than a Vasectomy, there is more risk that something will go wrong and so the Doc's have a higher insurance bill. The more complicated the procedures can be in their chosen field, the more expensive.

Forget it... the risk is the same and it's really a easy little little surgery!
