High T can cause secondary polycythemia:

Everyone taking T should monitor their haemocrit. This is usually part of a whole blood count.

Many on Androcur/cyproterone are bothered by shortness of breath. Has anyone who had surgical castration had that problem? It seems that the effects of chem castration are far worse than surgical.

From what I found out when I was on androcur, it was the androcur drug that caused the shortness of breath, not castration. After stopping taking androcur that side effect stopped quite quickly even though it took a couple of months for my T to return, and all the associated functions. I still felt castrated for a good period without the shortness of breath after stopping taking the pills.

I have tried to find information that I can trust about shortness of breath and sleeplessness. People report different things. Some people on Androcur do not report any problems with sleep. While some surgical eunuchs have both problems, shortness of breath and difficulties with sleep. Also I could not find too many scientific explanations behind that phenomena, related to low T.

As a side effect I found a paper that say, that there dopamine depends on testosterone. More testosterone means more dopamine and vice versa. Less dopamine means more prolactin which means more breast growth. But of course the structure of hormonal interactions are more complicated.

Are you still suffering acne? Assuming your profile indicates your real age, then we are on the same boat.

I just finished another course of accutane last year. I would suggest you see a dermatologist.

My acne is quite mild, and I still have it even at my age. few small spots here and there. What helps is intensive skin care, but that is not worth of the money and trouble. Dermatologists are useless, they won't provide you any magic cure, unless you don't have some sort of inflammation.

I love being castrated. The emotional and mental effects are wonderful. The sexual effects are again just wonderful. The physical side effects of androcur are not nice. If I get surgically castrated it will become obvious on my required 6 monthly physical. That opens a whole can of worms and I risk my career. So doing chemical castration starting after my physical, gives me time to enjoy my castration and recover sufficiently for my next physical. I want to be permanently castrated, but it just doesn't fit into my life yet. The answer for me is repetitive chemical castration.

I hesitate to go on with surgical castration, but I want to feel castration effects. Thats why I choose another chemcastration period.
