Thanks for the kind thoughts, everyone! Obviously this is my first (and only) time recovering from this, so it keeps kind of freaking me out. The discomfort isn't too bad, and the swelling seems to be reducing now, 4 days later. The bruising is a horror show, but I'm sure it will clear up in a week or two. The suture line is, to be charitable.... not artistic. I hope the healed state comes out ok, but right now it's definitely not pretty. Patience is not my greatest skill!

So how's it working out for you is it keeping your prostate cancer from progressing. I had mine out one in January and one in March one was dead and the other had a tumor but was caught before turning into cancer. I have pre cancerous cells in my prostate and am due to have another biopsy in June I'm on testosterone replacement tharapy and am afraid it will cause my condition to turn to cancer. I'm trying to find out if I stopped taking it would that stop any chance of it changing. Do you know anything about this? I would like to hear from you.

I won't have a PSA check for a while, but I fully expect my PSA to be undetectable without testosterone. It was when I was on Lupron for 3 years.

It sounds like you had a biopsy, for what, elevated PSA? It sounds like you must be on active surveillance, and since you're on testosterone supplementation your uro must think the risk is very low.

Reducing testosterone typically reduces PSA. If you have no T, it seems the risk of PCa would be reduced compared to having T. Have you asked your doctor about that specific question? See if he has any studies to support his position. Is your risk of PCa high enough to warrant living with no T? Tough question!

(For me... yes... my assessment of my own situation was that yes, eliminating T is worth it. My situation warrants going on no T, even if my doctor may not think so yet.)

Yes my psa was elevated causing him to do a biopsy finding I have atypical small ancir proliferation which is pre cancerous cells my psa went down a while after the biopsy but I just had it done and it is starting to climb again it's not to 4 yet and I'm going to have another biopsy in June. I'm just concerned about it because prostate cancer runs in the family. I've been seriously thinking about stopping my testosterone injections thinking that it would stop it from progressing to full blown cancer. I thought about using low dose estrogen for the sides I've already experienced after he removed the first testicle the hot flashes were horrible and I woke up in a soaked bed Every day and the hot flashes felt like I was in a blast furnace. Do they every stop?

Cheslyt - hot flash experience seems to vary hugely. Some get none, some are intolerable. When I was on chemical castration for 3 years, they were very noticeable for me, and about every 90 minutes like clockwork. Megace (megesterol acetate) helped a lot, about 80% reduction. I lived with them ok, though in 3 years they never stopped completely.

Some people get them for a few months to a year or so, then they fade away. It's just all over the map.

Low-dose estrogen is said to also greatly reduce them if you don't have testosterone. That's my plan. Just a week after my surgery, I'm already feeling the "warm flashes" occasionally, and I'm planning low dose estrogen in a month or so. It's DIY right now, so I'm being careful about this.
